Hey guys. Was at the pre-release for Dark Ascension (MTG) a few hours ago and decided that I should purchase Super Dungeon Explore. The lady-friend that lives with me was super interested in the miniatures, and I'm a huge fan of Gauntlet and Diablo (Which I've heard this game has been compared to), so we decided to snag it. A few questions while she drunkenly assembles these miniatures behind me.
1. Is this game friendly for just two players? I've read the rules (sparingly) and it seems pretty straight-forward. Will we see replay value in this game?
2. Can I easily show this to my friends and get them into it? All my friends play MTG or some sort of RPG, whether it be MMO or not. Is this a solid game to bring to a party including a few cases of beer?
3. Is the learning curve steep? I've done a few sessions of DnD with said friends, and we're all just too goofy to take it seriously, so our games usually end up with someone riding an elephant with a giant sack of Reese's Pieces. Can this be taken lightly or is there some sort of mathematical number crunching going on behind the scenes?
4. Last, but not least: Can this be turned into a drinking game? Learning basic rules is no issue with my group. We're all a tight-knit friendly bunch, but we all crave alcohol. Is there a way to turn this into a drunken laugh-fest? We turned Apples to Apples into a drinking game, as well as a few others. Does this fit the bill?
I've relied on the PA forums for quite a few issues, and this one is super SERIOUS. I kid, it's not. But so far, I'm loving how the game is laid out. We haven't played yet, as my lady-friend is passed out with half a bottle of beer and a quickly-drying model infront of her.
