Anyway, I am about a million times more pumped for the Avengers than that lame Batman movie even though Whedon is doing all the directing and stuff and I am not really a fan of his. Should be good anyway though.

I'm not really sure how you can be down on either project at this stage in the game.
I have no desire to see the new Batman vs. Facemask movie. I give zero shits about fake Chicago/NYC/Boston/whatever the fuck Gotham is supposed to be.
Um, ok. Other then not wanting to see the new batman I'm not sure what you were trying to say there/ Like i guess you don't like people with masks. Or that Gotham is an expy of various big cities.

Well I watched the preview footage and the trailer for the new Batman film and it didn't get me excited at all. I didn't hate it, I just don't care about it (and yeah, I do like Batman). Chris Nolan's vision of Batman is nothing like mine. But the Avengers movie looks ultra-rad so I am pumped for that.

Solar's statement echoes my own opinions.
Also, when I say something, everything I mean is right there in what I've said. Don't go looking for some existential meaning, or hidden super-secret film critique.

I wasn't. I was saying that what you said was weird and kinda, I don't even know, passive-aggressive.
I mean I appreciate that you didn't make a "Bane is hard to understand joke" because that shit got old three months ago.
I guess I get what your saying Solar but does the tone feel significantly different from The dark Knight?
Yeah, maybe I should lower my expectations for Top Half Mask vs Lower Half Mask or just watch something else. The first Nolan Batman was kinda dumb. There was a lot to like about Dark Knight for me, so maybe shit will be tight.

It does feel like the Dark Knight, and I sort of liked Dark Knight. Again, it's not what I really like from Batman (I prefer more psychedelia/introspection/supernatural elements, which is why I love Morrison's Batman and the current Snyder Batman), but it was okay. But the trailer and leaked footage for the new movie is, well, it's kind of boring? It's all here's Bane how scary is he and I'm like "well he is a big dude but so far I am not that impressed." And the whole plane heist thing seems kind of overdone, it was too long, I felt like the lightining in the plane could have been much better if you wanted to make Bane actually scary...
When it comes down to it, it's not really for me (though it does occur to me that if you can't get a comic fan who buys batman comics to vcare about your Batman film, well, I dunno). But I don't really want to see it anyway because it inspires zero interest from me. It's like the Dark Knight but more boring, maybe.
personally I'll only be going to the avengers movie because I've seen all the other ones
and hell I was only going to them because I knew there would be stuff setting up the avengers. I got more bored with their universe each time and would always think they could do more fun stuff if they didn't have to be tied together in continuity and tone, which would give the director and screenwriters a lot more freedom
Has anyone on SE++ posted the FIRST EVER PICTURE of the new 007 film? "Skyfall"'s a rad title
Holy shit, that was fast. Last I heard MGM was still all outta cash and not even started. And Skyfall is a rad title. Any info on it yet - is it gonna continue the Casino Royale arc?
Also dag, I didn't know anyone hated TDK. I figured it was one of those given things - the sky is blue, the grass is green, TDK was good times.
Craig has confirmed that the events of the film are not directly related to Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.
I can see why, that story is pretty tied off now. I would still expect Quantum to show up now and then though, similar to how SPECTRE did in the older movies. Having that nemesis organisation does add a layer to the shenanigans and definitely adds to the world building as well as giving a few more story telling options.
The alternative is getting some ISIS vs ODIN action going on. Which would be awesome.
I really need to find out if this was just a rumour or not, but I was so sad to hear what was apparently a draft of Quantum beforehand: It would be Bond infiltrating Quantum as "Mr Grey" and the entire film would be more suspense, undercover thriller.

I don't think it was 'concluded' as such, the only thing that was resolved in Quantum of Solace was
the Vesper storyline. Turned out her kidnapped husband in Casino Royale was an enemy agent that was using her. Bond had a bit of a character building moment when he didn't execute the guy on the spot, but had him arrested. Then he ditched Vesper's necklace and moved on. So the organization still exists, but Bond isn't a crazy guy looking for vengeance anymore.
Also, Gatsby; that would've made for a better movie, if they'd kept the whole revenge angle too. Woulda been great to see him trying to play along when he wants to shoot them all in the face.
I dunno what kind of lifestyle these people lead, how much they tend to get paid, or anything else, but you gotta get paid to eat.
I totally get that. Like I said, paying the bills makes sense.
But the dudes other job is basically making fun of people for doing the same thing he just did.
More so than the ethical qualms here, the thing they should be embarrassed about is that it's just a really stupid idea. Plenty of things are offensive/used for humor, but their execution makes them more palpable.
There's no excuse for crowing about a poorly formed work of bad quality. If he had to do that for money the respo.nse isn't to brag, just nod and move on, and take any blowback silently.

But my favourite Marvel movie (or Movie of a Marvel Franchise) of the last few years is X-men: First Class.
Damn that movie is good.
Yup yup

AGREED.
