Alright, guys, we've got nearly 30 people signed up for the team league (here), but we still need two captains. I'd like to get this started so we can have the first week of competition starting no later than Feb. 13. Captaining won't involve too much, mainly just drafting teams (unless someone has a better idea of how to distribute players) and coordinating availability of your team.

Nothing feels worse than posturing with your army in order to make zerg stop droning, and then losing said army to the one he made in response to yours
Sometimes I don't understand this game at all. My friend and I were playing 2s all night, started out great and ended horrible. At first we were crushing every team we met and just dominating like crazy, then by the end of the night every game we got rolled over by some timing push where each player had twice as many units as us. We weren't trying to go for some crazy economic builds, and we stayed even on bases, but without fail the other team would have way more units than us. If we had been facing people who were much higher ranked I could understand, but we started the day fighting high bronze and low silver and we ended the same way. Maybe we were just tilting really bad, but it didn't seem like we were making huge mistakes (obviously we were making mistakes, but not moreso than usual). Oh well, live and learn. I really need to go back and watch the replays to see what those teams were doing and learn to scout those 8-10 minute all-ins.

Yes, the sight of my siege tanks going into siege mode while they are being attacked by zerglings feels pretty bad.

You were playing baddies(comparatively) when you started, the matchmaker started pitting you against better teams in response.

yeah
I never bother anymore but this is only gonna work for so long

Everyone is going to all in you all the time on 2s. That or they're going to try and macro but it won't work super well because they can't really get more than 2 bases anyway.
This assumption helps in that bracket.
Also if you don't know what it is, it is probably DTs or banshees.

I'M SO EXCESSIVELY DRUNK. And I don't understand howe team games work. I'm confused. Prescriptions are hard.
tvz on entombed. it wasn't cross so I decided (like I would on antiga) just to kill him by throwing down my forth and making him to something about it.
honestly I'd probably do the same on cross because I don't know what else to do
I would like to think we were up against better players, but their rankings didn't suggest that. Most of the time it was just huge balls of stalkers and roaches and marauders, and sometimes mass muta. Its frustrating mainly because we usually had things like immortals and mutas and things that should be able to hold, but they just had insane amounts of stuff. Like I said I need to check the replay because it seems like they just had too much stuff for that many bases, so I must be missing something.
On a better note, I tried the stalker pressure pvt build from the last day 9 daily in 1v1 a couple of times and holy crap is that matchup totally different now. It feels like im all inning even though it's a 1 gate expo, and all of the things I usually die to weren't an issue at all. My only regret is that I won both games I tried it in with only the stalker pressure and I didnt get to try the transitions.

two straight all kills would have been anticlimactic

Maybe resource allocation shenanigans? Seems like a team that was really good at passing resources around where they could be used efficiently could just straight out-produce a team that wasn't.

I watched it just now.
3 points:
- You left a lot of army supply at your base when you pushed out. I don't think you should do this. If you get enough production facilities up, the stuff popping out should be enough to hold off counterattacks. Just leave 1-2 marines in each bunker.
- You didn't make sensor towers. If you're worried about counterattacks, then this should help. You can raise the walls if you see something coming.
- Research the ghost stuff at the academy if you got so much float as soon as it is built. It can make a big difference if every ghost comes out with one extra snipe and cloak.

yeah I usually do that research, I guess I missed it
the supply I left behind, I know there were 2 tanks and a bunker filled as well as a handful of marines I forgot about and got later. I don't mind leaving the tanks in a situation where our bases are that close. I was rallying to the front because of how close we were. same with the sensor tower, although yes that's a habit I have to get into more. I only really use them in tvt.
And here's something I noticed from pros on how they do drop harass.
If you've got time, instead of box selecting a bunch of marines and right clicking on the medivac, make sure you select the exact amount of marines that will go into the medivac so you can assign them to a control group before you put them in. Use the same method for maynarding and putting SCVs on gas, shift-clicking the unit cards.
The reason some players do this is that it saves a shitload of time in multitasking when you actually need to be fast, during the drop. And as the marines are being dropped, you can spam the control group key and hold position without even looking at the drop to make sure the marines don't run into spine crawlers in the mineral line or chase after drones being pulled away. And then when you notice they are under attack, just double tap the control group key and load them into the medivac.
I think it would be a good habit to pick up for you marine users. It'll feel awkward at first, but with practice it will come to make a huge difference, I'm sure.

that makes sense I just don't usually have anything groups to spare, I don't use enough. I always group the medivac by itself so I can get to the drop really quickly but that hold position part is nice. I guess I can just put the marines in that same group actually.

rough ladder night. four zvts that I literally thought I was doing awesome at, just demolished. just, fucking demolished.
roaches, infestors, lings. basically whatever they wanted. I moved out nearing max and they ... well I think I made it clear. I don't know what changed since last night that my army at that point in the game is suddenly worthless.
and then I lost a tvp to a protoss getting 2/2, 2 colossus and archons off 2 base (I just didn't expect it yet) and just walloping my army.
I really don't like when I feel like an imbecile after a loss. like I'm doing something so wrong that it's funny... and I don't know what it is.

just so everyone knows because it makes me uncomfortable that it's in there. I watched it, there's nothing funny about it! also don't tell me how shitty I played, if you don't mind. that was 5 in a row, I was tilted, it's the middle of the night... here's your replay http://drop.sc/104205
this was a PvZ I played the other day where I just ended up rolling over the guy. I have no idea why it was like this. Did I do anything particularly right, or did he do anything particularly wrong, because to me it just seems like he should have had a lot more units than he did at the time when I pushed, but I can't see why he didn't.

Ok basically your engagement was poor. You stood back and let the Collosi and Archons splash your units. One of the scariest things in that situation is when the stim occurs and then the stutter step INTO the Protoss army, because then the Marauders can pick off the Collosi (so fast) and you can target high priority units like Archons down really quickly

it's hard to run into zealots though. you definitely think that's the right move?
I didn't react fast enough to the fact that a fight was happening at all, which is dumb because I was trying to cut him off. but normally I'd run backwards.
Seguerof the VoidSydney, AustraliaRegistered Userregular
Usually Terrans will move a few marauders up (instead of the entire army) and attempt to snipe Collosi. This was really important in that fight because you didn't have enough vikings to be able to snipe them quickly enough.
If nothing else, it forces the Protoss to move the Collosi back.. which means they aren't killing your marines
Leenock is pretty much the cheesiest zerg I have ever seen when he plays protoss. And I actually like this in the FXOpen. He seems to have a very good understand of toss reactions and its amazing not to "give up", but switch cheese 3 times in a row perfectly in one game
Hatch your opponents natural, get a queen and creep tumour it, start lair and try to go nydus, but when that gets scouted, cancel at last second and banelingbust the toss. Amazing.
