Anyone else see a problem with this 5 out of ten review from The Edge when the reviewer says "Building up your trick points to enter a Zen-like Super Tricky state with unlimited boost and some fantastic character-specific tricks unleashes a flurry of fan-pleasing madness, but these moments are hard-earned and fleeting, rather than the game’s heart and soul.". Too hard to get into tricky mode?! What!? edge-online.com/reviews/ssx-review
I stopped giving a shit about Edge's opinions after they ripped on Zone of the Enders 2. 4/10 and treated like an editorial consensus? Fuck you, Edge Magazine.
So, how is this? I just started downloading the demo, but things I'm hearing are pushing towards the "RUN OUT AND BUY NOW" option. Mostly the auto-remixed custom soundtrack stuff that IGN mentioned, because I'm an absolute sucker for that shit.

I've never played ZOE. I'm waiting for the HD collection. I'm actually really excited for it. Haha.

Wow. I absolutely suck at the demo, and yet it is so amazingly cool. I just need to figure out why I suck... classic controls seems way off. Landing seems to be my biggest issue, but when I hit those tricky moments it rocks!
seriously landing is an issue to you (or anyone?) I feel like they've made it near impossible to crash (which was not far off from the previous games.)
I found using button controls is way superior to flicking the RS, but some of the advanced moves are killing my fingers to roll around the pad so much I suppose that's the sign of a good game.
I still crash fairly regularly. Usually when the ground pops up faster than you expected. Doesn't help if the camera decides to take that moment to tilt up toward the sky.
I really, really wish the tooltips would change depending on the control scheme your using.
I'm using classic mode. I have no idea how to do signature tricks.
It used to be both shoulder buttons and square, so that's what I'm doing but I'm not really sure if that's working or not. A guide for classic controls would be nice.

Good lord the oxygen mechanic is annoying as hell. Here, go as fast as you can during this race while taking time out to breathe. Don't use it too much or you'll die, but don't use it enough and you can't see a damn thing.
The Survive stuff is definitely the worst. A narrow track full of trees where I have to go as slow as possible and only make tiny, precise jumps. Yes, that's what I want.
Aw, I thought Amazon shipped for release date. It won't show up til next week But a book I bought at the same time as the preorder will be here tomorrow...
Finally got home with a PS3 version. Future shop gave me a zoe board code. Too bad it isn't for Elise instead. She's always been my character and I don't really care about Zoe.
No, it's designed for you to go fast as shit. Just speed through without carving much and you'll find it easier.
Global events are awesome by the way. Climbing the leaderboard.
Watchout for pxlstorm.
I tried that. It's completely dark half the time. If you go above a slow slide, you immediately crash into trees. Don't even get me started on boosting in that area. Oh, and the physics are different for that stage! On the two demo stages and the others I've played here so far, you can bump into and bounce off walls, trees, rocks, etc. Not here. If you so much as brush a tree, you crash spectacularly and either come to a dead stop or get flung off the path. Into more trees.
Holy crap this game is everything I want it to be and more.
I've got a question, though. I always have a bit of trouble pulling off the signature moves, when I get them off I'm usually already halfway to the ground. Whats the trick? Should I hold both triggers and then push any button? Or push a button and then hit the triggers? It never seems to work right when I try to hit them all at the same time.
From what I've seen, you should hold the triggers and then do a trick. Otherwise a normal trick will come out, and then sometimes change to the sig trick. Or not.
Man, the rewind is kind of pointless, I just end up restarting, a lot, because I suck. Wish I could install this game to the PS3 hard drive, I feel like I spend more time at the loading screen then I do in the game.
I am glad the full version tells you what song is currently playing. I'm going to stick with the default music for a few days, before I start thinking about using any of my songs. Being able to toggle each song on and off individually and listen to each one in the menu is a great touch.

Hello difficulty curve. Then again, I'm trying really, really hard to adapt to this new control scheme and what little muscle memory I have from the old SSX games keeps making grab for those shoulder buttons like mad. Sucks when I accidentally trigger the rewind.
Other than that... oh God... guys and gals... this game is crack.
I can't recall if I said it before, but, yeah, PS3 version. I'm pretty terrible so if you need a nice ego boost, add me.
Just finished the first deadly descent in world tour. I actually enjoyed having to dodge all those trees as it was satisfying to clear a section of trees flawlessly.
You need good velocity to make best use of the wing suit. Have a little boost when you can before a wingsuit jump. If you go through Elise's missions in World tour you should get the hang of it.

Now the next question: PS3 or 360? I'm used to the Dual Shock from my previous encounters with the SSX series, but all my online friends are on 360.

Okay, I'm weak willed and I got a bigger paycheck than planned last week. Getting this for PS3.
Stud_Beefpile on PSN so you have some pathetic scores to point and laugh at.

Why is it a 8 meg download?
Edit: Holy shit you can buy, for real money, in game credits. That is so sceezy.

There is so much to do in this game.
Can't get the game now, but thanks to the ghosts and stuff I should have fun with it when I pick it up down the road.
