This just arrived this evening, so i'll be starting up sometime tomorrow. The last SSX I really put any amount of time into was Tricky, so i'm sure my scores will be nothing to write home about, no need to worry.
This game is about four times more enjoyable with a custom soundtrack. I highly recommend that everyone come up with their own.

I tried to put some music on the 360 but no dice, I googled it and the only way is to literally put a CD in there and copy the music over lol.
Maybe my wife has some Beatles CDs somewhere....
You should be able to stream music from a Windows computer with media player on it.
Yeah I found I can stream but that just overwrites the game soundtrack, but you can't actually put your music in the game as their definition of "Custom Soundtrack' where the game remixes your tracks on-the-fly unless you have music ripped directly to your hard drive, and you can only do that by putting a CD in the tray apparently.
Sometimes it actually pays off to get a multiplatform game on the PS3 instead of 360
Extra mountain and the ability to copy files from my Mac to my PS3's hard drive are making SSX more awesome
yeah, if you go into the audio settings and choose from there all my music appears from my PC. it's remixed and everything. you have to have your 360 on the same network as your PC, i believe, but i didn't have to do anything special.
There are badges for finishing global events in diamond, platinum, gold, and silver. I finished diamond in a global event, but when I go to badges, I only get credited for finishing in diamond, and not gold or silver. Do they expect me to do intentionally worse?

Yeah this ultimately worked for me, turns out I just had to disconnect and reconnect the portable drive I keep all my music in. Picks up every playlist and even on the fly if you add stuff while you're playing and doesn't eat up any hard drive space on the console itself.
The first Pro Tip I encounter on the loading screen:
"Some items glow. It looks awesome. Seriously, check it out."
Also, they seriously changed the meaning of SSX to that? Yeesh... I just hope this means they'll make good surfing and motocross games to justify it.

Freezing. It froze on me twice on the in game redemption of the online pass, only worked by doing it direct through Account Management on the PS3, and again froze after my first World Tour level on the Geotag Earned! screen. Three freezes in 2 hours. This one might not be so insignificant. :<

See above - I agree with this. If I get Diamond (pfft, not happening), that should count as a placement for Diamond, Platinum, Gold, and Silver. I shouldn't have to do each one separately. I don't want to intentionally play worse just to get a silver.

1. How can I tell how long I can maintain my combo? I see the bar for the multiplier, but not for combos
2. How come half the time when I'm setting up for a jump, I'll hold the jump, attempt to wind up for some spins by holding left, then after winding up for 1 second my character will shoot the left. Arent youre movement controls disabled while holding down the jump button?
3. Whats the best way to build up youre multiplier really fast during the beginning?

1. Why are there so fucking many random death pits all over some maps? Some of them have almost no warning. Some of them are ultra narrow passages with death drops on either side. This has never been a thing in any previous SSX games. There were tons of high risk / high reward shortcuts and jumps in previous games, but if you missed them you just dropped down to the regular area and lost time because of that. You didn't have to fucking rewind 10 times a match.
2. Actually #1 was my only real complaint about this game. I love this game, but all these death pits are really fucking stupid and I passionately hate it. It's not fun at all.

Not played around much yet, so I've only run into those god damn death pits in the Darkness Deadly Descent on Kilimanjaro. They seemed very appropriate there, for lack of a better term. Fuckin' annoying, but justified. The challenge is seeing where you're going, right? :P
If they're all over the place on other mountains though...
So yeah, I added my custom playlist to the Survival mode last night just to see if it worked. The first song it pulled up? Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins. If that wasn't the perfect song for this game, I don't know what was.

Haha, I have a similar one. Slow down near an L shaped edge, where you are facing the bottom of the L. Tip over the edge. Put geotag down. Can't see it going by.
Wait you earn cash if no one finds your Geotags? Do you have a finite amount you can hide? I think I set one down yesterday just for kicks (someone from here found it immediately) but I couldn't lay anymore after that.
you can put down as many geotags as you want, but the max you can carry is two once you hit level 7 or 8. you have to equip them like other items, but i've put down over 30 so far and only had 10 or so found (and some higher level tags are worth more money). the longer they go unclaimed, the more they earn you.
But isn't that sort of skewed because like Sky says, you can just put them down in a pit and no one will ever get them while you earn a ton of cash? Who do they show up for? Everyone on your friends list or EVERYONE playing the game?

This game really makes me want to shake fists angrily and yell "physics" sometime. Especially in tunnels. Holy shit the tunnels.
Still loving the game though, but still feeling the squirliness.
