I suppose we should verify checksums in advance. I'm MLDO
Also, shal, are you going for independence or being Burgundy in the Empire?
Sort of depends on how things go with the Empire, really. My plan basically is to assess the situation as it stands the next time a massive civil war breaks out (which should be soon, if I remember where we left off correctly). Long term I think I'd like to be independent, but I'm not big enough to be totally comfortable with the idea at the moment.
Also, I may or may not have a working mic tonight. While I was out of the house today my cat decided that my headset would make a great chew toy. Earphones are fine, but the mic has a few tooth marks, and the foam covering has disappeared. We'll see in a while, I guess.
England was pretty busy the last few sessions, here's the report from the ground. My main concern a week ago was that Duke Sigeric's heir Sigeric had a claim on England. I had intended to press that once he inherited Lancaster, but Big Sigeric was getting pretty old and I was afraid Little Sigeric would die before I could try to press the claim. So I decided to just go for it. As you can see here, the balance of power in England was decidedly lopsided, so I figured I'd make quick work of the southerners. I took pictures but it all became kind of a moot point.
Anyway, Kent and Oxford agreed to help me, and over the course of 1149 we crushed King Earled's armies and conquered his holdings. Earled himself was killed early in the war, and was succeeded by Harold III. Then in early 1150, Little Sigeric up and died on us. Everyone stood around awkwardly shuffling and coughing before calling it a day and going home. So thus died my great rebellion.
Later that year Duke "Big" Sigeric died and his grandson Saexred took over. Duke Saexred is very tan for a Saxon. He doesn't like to have that pointed out. Over the '50s Scotland kind of fell apart. England took some territory, but the bulk fell to Ireland's predations. Anyway, it settled down until 1164.
Right before the end of the session I declared war against Harold to try to give England their rightful king. That king of course being me. The way I see it, the house of Godwin had brought nothing but misery to England. It's time I took a turn. They also laughed at me.
KIND OF AN ERROR
Here's where the war stands as of the end of the last session. My new drapes are very tasteful, Krakow.
Tonight on Crusader Kings: everyone dies! Some of us multiple times. There was civil war in Ireland-Scotland during an abortive attempt to conquer Vannes in Brittany. But first the old King died, and then the elder of his two twin grandsons was murdered by the younger twin after a short reign of six months or so, ending the invasion of Brittany.
On the plus side, my wife is second in line to the Hungarian throne after a mysterious series of deaths. My newborn son is third. Hmmmmmmm
Self-righteousness is incompatible with coalition building.
France continues to gobble up the empire before Aegis becomes Emperor. Amusingly I'm immune to title revocation too so there's no way to get it back either
Shalmelo's experience tonight was the most hilarious in my mind.
Italy meanwhile had a pretty okay 7 years. Ruler died but that just means I am now playing the God-King Supergenius.
Two steps forward, one untimely assassination step back. Unfortunately I've got 9 years left on my truce before I can retake Geneve. Still 5 provinces away from forming Burgundy, now that the new patch expanded the De jure size of the kingdom. Sigh.
Aegis, you need to become powerful enough to stand toe-to-toe with Phyphor militarily, if only so I can have some relevance in this game (aside from comic relief) by playing kingmaker when the two of you finally go at it.
Yeah, I'm not sure what's going to happen first - England vs Ireland/Scotland, Castille vs Aragon, Italy/Bohemia vs France/Germany or Sicily vs everyone. All I really know is that at this point I couldn't take any one of you in a fair fight, so I need to try and stay on everybody's good side.

In other news, hey ebum, your Marshal doesn't seem to like you very much! I say this because it seems I'm able to very easily Invite him to my Court which I'm highly considering doing considering he's an awesome Martial

Ireland/Scotland has no plans on England. We're aiming for Hungary and Brittany.
Just Lothian, by marriage, ideally.

Your dude has 26 Martial! Ain't my fault he don't like you :P
Also, I found in my test game a 29 Learning guy. I need to look and find him again because that's just ridiculous.
It actually shouldn't be a huge deal, I'm not particularly focused on any wars anytime soon, except Brittany who I can crush utterly without trying very hard.

I think Aragon / Castille are more worried about Sicily and the HRE than we are each other.

I didn't even do that intentionally, she was married to the guy I wanted. Who turned out to be related to you which is the last person I want in charge of things. I also had a brilliant moment that will stand as my finest strategic accomplishment. My wife's parents had claims on all kinds of shit, like Scotland and Brittany. I killed them and they passed to my wife. Then I killed her because I'm stupid and wasn't paying attention, so they didn't pass to anyone and it was a waste of time. You ended up usurping Scotland anyway so that didn't matter so much, but I would have liked to get Brittany. They're my de jure vassals but since I'm a different culture they won't submit. Didn't want those continentals anyway.
I took some pictures, but the only one that really matters in the long run is this one showing the history of the English monarchy:
edit: And it really bugs me that my King's education popped out as religious. He was mentored by an intrigue person. I didn't know they could wind up with a different focus than their mentor.

Though in my test run it also helped that when Phyphor's female ruler grew up, Baden and another major Duchy in France rebelled against her Tyranny.

No, I topped out around 15k. My vassals don't like me very much and my levies are actually still reinforcing from recent combats all over the country
Ah yes, that's probably because the AI failed the imprisonment rolls from the current rebellions
