The intermediate territores? With my 300 troops vs warrior cults? Not likely. Basically, I either skip some water and go east, or I go north into Jamtland's area, or I become Emperor
The heathens in that area do tend to survive a while though
I'll be desperate for cash early game, so I'm going to go ahead and offer a 1000% return on any loans you guys send me. Send me 50 gold, I'll send you at least 500 as soon as I'm reasonably secure.
So the first session is tonight? Because I'm leaving for PAX East tonight. I'll be around other times though.
Is it possible to come in after the first session?

If you're going to miss a session, the first one is probably the best option, because you won't have built up anything impressive for the AI to completely ruin. Just come in, see what county looks appetizing at the start of the second session, and go to town.

Sweet.
I've played this a bit and realized that I'm terrible and overwhelmed. So this promises to be fun.

I meant all the Baltic coast stuff. I guess we'll evaluate as things progress, as it shouldn't be terribly relevant anytime soon.

Self-righteousness is incompatible with coalition building.
So I hadn't actually hit start on a test game. Do y'all mind if the King of Croatia hands out Duchy titles like candy, so that I'm a Duke by the end of 1066? Still just have the one province.

Not really bothered by it, unless the de jure duchy is particularly large. The title doesn't mean a ton unless a whole lot of ducal claims/vassals come along with it.
I think I tossed all of these out before, but County of Napoli or Capua down in the south of Italy are both OK, and so is Vienne over by Provence. Space-wise based on what's already been claimed, your best bet would probably be somewhere in Italy, central Germany or up in the British Isles.
I really enjoyed the last game, and I'd like to be in this one too, but I just started a new job this week that's taking up a lot of my time. If I get more free time later on I'll see if I can find a nice spot to jump in. Take lots of screenshots so I can read about your progress.

I will definitely take screenshots of Dax as nothing exciting is otherwise going to be happening for decades for me.
I get the worst possible start. King goes up to 6/9 and starts crusading. I get the wrong duchy. Crown laws at medium before any internal claims. Allied to no less than 4 kingdoms
My short-term goal was to survive for twenty years, so I'm happy. It went about as well as I could hope for, even with multiple stupid wars initiated by both myself and my liege. The Caliphate still terrifies me though. Once my fancy muslim provinces start giving me things and/or I manage to become King I'll feel much more confident that I can survive (and maybe even thrive?).
Yeah, I don't have any money right this second, but given that all I'm really doing at the moment is waiting for my mother to die I can probably send you some money in a year or so if you're still in need.
Aegis, I would greatly appreciate if you refrained from trying to convert Byzantium's heir or any of his children to Catholicism. I need the Empire intact.
Edit: Ooooh, for the low cost of 167 gold I can grab an alliance with the Cuman Khanate.

Counties preferred. One province Duchies acceptable.

That'd be fine by me, then.

Be something up in Iceland. That'll be rewarding.

You laugh, but I was seriously thinking about the Isle of Man before I decided to start on the Continent.
