2. I'm gonna Chud it up in northern Russia. Probably find something zany to do up there... you know, until the Horde shows up in a fit of Mongol deathstorms.

Alrighty, not a bad period for Chud... once we got past that whole Cuman occupation thing. My son will inherit a claim on one nearby county, and the silly Cuman claim that started this whole mess mostly succeeded in putting an undefended, Tengri ruled, county right next to me. In a few years I'll win by, like... 80% holding the territory. :-/
I need to get ANYTHING. I will get a second county in... two generations. And I'm in a pretty good place to get the Duchy of Bosnia, which will get me to four counties. Then maybe I can take on Croatia proper for Split and we'll see.
It's just going to be like...1200 before I'm King.
Self-righteousness is incompatible with coalition building.
Minsk is still wallowing in its mediocrity. I'm being handicapped by my idiot Duke joining every war against the pagan/Islam hordes around us and sending like all 5 of the troops he raises to their imminent demise, successfully preventing me from overthrowing him because I haven't gotten to 100 piety yet. Should be able to do it on Tuesday. Only positives are a pretty decent lord and the fact I randomly gain claims on Russian duchies.

He was Orthodox. I think you won a war to make Aquitaine elective, though you'd have to ask shal to be sure.

I could believe that. When I tried via the plot that I had I started with 124% strength. If I just grabbed her other vassals we likely could have beaten her down with my income.

Pretty sure you didn't win that war, but it ended in a white peace. Not totally sure. The war was your four counties and Auvergne against the rest of the duchy. When I saw you were fighting, I took advantage of Aquitaine being in an internal war to attack them to press one of my vassal's claims. About midway through MY war, yours ended with one territory occupied by each side, so I'm assuming white peace. I had to buy some mercs in a hurry to deal with Aquitaine suddenly focusing on me.
You should be able to see the Byzantine fallout in the next play session - Sanc only took the throne very shortly before we ended last night. He did convert to Orthodox, but he's still Occitan, which was enough for the Empire to basically shatter. Be interesting to see how that plays out, because _11_ simultaneous independence/depose the emperor wars?? Damn.

Yeah, think it was a white peace over there.
And I'd say be happy he wasn't Catholic still. Last time I saw a foreign Catholic claim the ERE throne, like all but one vassal revolted and the empire mostly collapsed. If it wasn't for the fact the Muslims have no cajones, it might've spelled the end of em'. Shame, I would've loved to see it.

Hmmm, I wonder what a white peace means for me. I guess I'm an independent county of 4?

No. It wasn't independence, so that's not affected (you will still be a traitor though!). Even if you had fully won, you would still be his vassal. Even if it was an independence war, you would just have moved up to be a direct vassal of his liege, ie the king
Just went in and checked the save (hooray for working from home) and you're still a vassal of Aquitaine.
And Phyphor - don't think I didn't notice the way you've stealthily married your family into inheriting the Duchy of Kent. Really? You don't have enough expansion opportunities in Scandinavia?

Hey, feel free to continue tilting at that particular windmill - the more fragmented England is with religious infighting, the easier it will be to peel tasty strips off of it.
A reminder: game four of Red Wings-Predators is tomorrow at 7:30, if it goes to overtime I'm bailing. As is, I might be slightly late in terms of actually being there, but I'll jump on and you guys can start while I wait for nothing to happen.

It's very fun, but it's not a balanced, competitive RTS where everyone's trying destroy each other if that's what you're looking for. In our experience, conflict between players is rare, though YMMV depending on who you play with.
There are also a lot of exploitish things you can do, though Paradox is patching most of those out and house rules can take care of the rest.
Word from Paradox is that it's save game compatible, but they still recommend starting a new save.

Yeah, heard that... gonna put my Norseway game on hold until more comes out about the patch (it'll open, but I'd hate to see something go horribly awry and ruin it that way for me). Which in itself is depressing, but the patch also has freakin' overwhelmed me. I've gone from sitting around, waiting for a truce or two to wear off, to now being able to declare war on multiple folks. Munster, the Norse remembers.
Point is, I have no freakin' clue what to do next in that game, because the game has literally changed. Also, it changed my dynasty sigil, which annoys me greatly.
But the real question is regarding THIS. Now, I love being the Count of Chud, but... what's the plan, oh higher powers of the PA forums?

Jesus this is one massive patch. What's the idea regarding tonight's game?
If we think we can make the current save game work, I'd like to try and press on with the existing game. I should be getting home early today, so I should be able to deal with all the patch nonsense before our normal game time.

So uh, hey shal. Looks like Aquitaine's not very happy over you taking Poitiers, so I'd expect a war very soon after starting tonight's session if I were you.

Hahahaha.
I'll have to check this save. Was he still Occitan Catholic?

The duchess actually asked me for a bethrothal
Step two, Ireland! Duke of Munster, Count of Dublin, or Count of Leinster.
Please tell me I'm right. The Guild 2 was awesome...but horrifically flawed.

That's what I'm asking, but we may not have everyone's input until shortly before or at game time.
I'm cool with whatever... though I probably need to start a new single player game. Heck, probably back down in Bulgaria again...
Though I've found out my stupid ruler changed his primary title from Dax to Bearn. PFFFT
