Hi everyone. I'm looking for a free program that will allow me to:

1)Record and mix on multiple tracks
2)Convert projects to mp3

Basically, I want something that does what GarageBand does, but for PC. Does anyone know of anything?

It's excellent on OS X, I can't see why it would be different for XP.

It is fabulous in XP as well. Make sure you turn off all your computer sounds when you're using it because it will record pretty much everything (like when I hit 'stop' to stop recording, it records a little click sound which is kind of annoying).

Recent questions has made me open up Audacity myself, and tinker with some sound mixing. So thanks for reminding me guys.

    Happy sound editing.
