it felt like JT Krul was trying to write a knock-off Doctor Manhattan and I don't really want to read that book
But their personalities are completely different! Doctor Manhattan was unable to connect with humans, he was drifting away, but never really seems to give a shit. Captain Atom is a superhero, a good guy, he wants to help people, he's just worried about being more of a science experiment than a man, which okay is a similarity between the two but they approach it in distinct ways. And while Dr Manhattan was happy to go along with the military because really he didn't give a shit, Captain Atom feels a lot less okay with that. He has questions and so on.
Nathaniel Adam is still quite introspective and considerate of his own nature, but at the same time he's more of an action type, who wants to get out there and do something, be a proper superhero. It's a really good mix between the two without going too far either way and seeming tired. The action is cool and inventive, because Atom uses his powers in fun ways, the art is great, and it's been building up to a big conflict which has just exploded into being lately, while the first issues set up through the narrative what Captain Atom's situation is with the scientists, with the military, with the people, the league and so on. We are shown, rather than told, these things. It's actually really good.
Bob Harras, who was EiC of Marvel from 95-2000 aka the era where it declared bankruptcy, is EiC.
Jim Lee, who was Harras' boss for a while, is now the driving artistic force behind the universe.
Rob Liefeld is writing and/or drawing 3 books: The Savage Hawkman, Grifter and Deathstroke.
Howard Mackie, whose writing credits include two Ghost Rider/Punisher/Wolverine team-ups, 3 Venom miniseries(one of which was a Ghost Rider crossover),writing Web of Spider-Man and other Spider-Titles up throughout the Clone Saga up until being the ASM writer just before JMS' run is launching a new teenage team book called the Ravagers. His last work was the Spider-Man: Clone Saga miniseries from 2009.
Tom DeFalco is writing Superboy.
Scott Lobdell launched with 3 books but has since scaled down to two.
DC has some good shit going on for sure. Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, etc. but jesus christ what is going on
I consider him to be the personification of everything that went wrong with 90's comics. There are some great stories to come out of that era. And Cable was made cool eventually, but back then everyone was huge and covered in blades or swords and had giants guns

WHY DOES LIEFELD KEEP FINDING WORK
HE IS A FUCKING MILLIONAIRE
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Juggernaught just ignored it and kept going, and the fire meant they couldn't enact any more plans for half an hour or something
I loved that whole bit in Uncanny. The X-Men just systematically trying whatever they could, throwing every combination of powers in their arsenal, and crazy super Juggernaut just walking it off.
it is the comic equivalent of wearing a wife beater with the sides cut out

You are missing out on JT Krul actually writing well
That book is going to die, he will shrug and say "well I guess they prefer my other stuff" and go back to being fully shit
And it will be all your fault
...
you suck
Also it did admittedly have a slow start. It's got right into things right now, and is rolling along nicely. And the art is great.
I dunno
it felt like JT Krul was trying to write a knock-off Doctor Manhattan and I don't really want to read that book
I was just saying not everyone does
He did a rewrite of Cayote Ugly.
but then they are overshadowed by the bad parts

not even joking
it was pretty hilarious
He swore loads and set ol Juggsy's blood on fire
Juggernaught just ignored it and kept going, and the fire meant they couldn't enact any more plans for half an hour or something
This is a comic coming out in May 2012
HE IS A FUCKING MILLIONAIRE
he is working on three different series right now
he is even writing two of them
think about that
To be fair Marvel was already in the shitter when he got the job, he just made it worse
that blows my mind
This is what I'm talking about:
that does not look practical
I loved that whole bit in Uncanny. The X-Men just systematically trying whatever they could, throwing every combination of powers in their arsenal, and crazy super Juggernaut just walking it off.
oh yeah, I wasn't even looking at him, I was looking at the guy in the front
looked good on Thor
it is the comic equivalent of wearing a wife beater with the sides cut out
:winky:
just

So why would he need a gun?
Unless I suppose he might be depowered
But then how could he carry the damn thing?
