Hah, bizarrely, the one thing that stood out to me the most watching that multiplayer stream was that once players are downed, enemies will walk up to them and curbstomp them to finish them off if your squadmates don't get to them in time.
I don't know why I find that so amusing. I think it's the sort of matter-of-fact animation routine. Cerberus dude strolls up to a body, stops dead, looks at it for a second and then KER-STOMP.
Was go go go the trigger line for Sabotage?
Because when I hear go go go in my head it's immediately followed by the sabotage (or maybe overload) noise
I've been lurking around these forums for a bit (read: this topic), and I have a couple of things to say.
1) This group of people has inspired me to try Vanguard in the demo, and it really is as fun as it sounded.
2) On a related note, charge broke my demo. No, really.
It happened twice, first with
charging into Joker's missile barrage in the intro
,
and then, more substantially, (possible minor ME3 demo/full game spoilers)
when I managed to charge my way OUT OF THE DEMO. I'm currently standing on a balcony a level below the Cerberus Engineer (the combat encounter that I charged in. It was a charge, followed by a stumble off of the balcony up there). There are three containment cells with two Yahg (who look much more savage than the SB did), with one of the cells' glass shattered. I can only assume this is the much talked about Yahg vs. Cerberus area.
Anyway, I've had fun with Vanguard, but does it usually break this game this much?
multiplayer is going to have a bit of a learning curve for players if initial observations trend for the masses.
Not sure how many people played insanity on ME1 and ME2 but we have basically been 1man wreaking machines for 60+ hours of gaming in this universe. Now we have a bunch of conditioned 'lonewolves' doing what the earlier games taught them to do, on easier difficulties.
you are not commander shepard in multiplayer. you are a cog in the machine.
that said, I want to game with the people in this forum. You all understand the concept of unit cohesion.
as a vanguard, i most emphatically do not
You're doing it right.

Man, I love nonDM multiplayer, especially objectives. I am so excited for this. Can't wait for the 17th.
Download done! Glorious Pink Soldier is ready for online. I'll probably be free to play the multi all day, so feel free to shoot me an invite. My gamertag is sublunary.

especially since charge sets off biotic explosions if the target is pulled or singularitied

Okay, but be warned, I'm going to be throwing out ME1 combat lines.

"Enemies Everywhere!"
"I will destroy you!"
ME2 had "I can use this!"
what throwaway dialogue will capture the hearts and minds this time 8->
um excuse me i believe ME2's was "Weakening their integrity!"
my integrity had been demolished by the end of every playthrough
"Hold the line!"

If ME1 had anymore combat lines than these three, I never knew it.
EU side at least.
Dibs.

I was hoping to download it while I slept this morning and not have to sit there, waiting in agony, while it downloads this evening!
Also not even being able to start the download means I can't even scratch my anticipation-itch, which will make sleeping all the harderrrrr

Anyone can download the demo today, but only BF3 people have access to multiplayer at this point. That opens for all on the 17th.
