Should we put in the thread title that 'Demo is available to all, MultiPlayer on Feb 17' ?
That'd be after the PC users were able to access it, of course. Dont want to start flames from a title.

So much to my surprise, the multiplayer looks surprisingly fun.
Listen, most of my friends are Xboxtards, so that means I am requiring the PA PC community to play this game with me on at minimum a weekly basis. Otherwise I will be forced to buy this game twice, and I just really don't think we want that.
Like, the details are weird or the fact that it's detailed is weird?
The fact that shep doesnt have penis, but a detailed arse. And the fact that ashley/liara/consort are "smooth round the bend" yet have detailed nipples.
Also the consorts "hand against glass" is just hilarous, she is not posistioned at all how you would think. i'd post shots but i'm betting thats a no-no here.
So I was playing through the first half of the demo this morning. Spoilers if you really don't want to know anything about the demo, I guess.
Looks like they've changed the difficulty settings a bit. Normal now seems to have taken the place of Veteran, which is entirely gone. Story now seems to have taken the place of Easy. Playing on Hardcore still appears to be the ideal starting point.
Boy, this Vega character. I dunno about this Vega guy. I'm not feeling like we're gonna really bond and become best friends, cause he just seems like an MMA meathead. And god, his muscles under that shirt? I think I've seen less muscle definition in comic books. It's a little over the top.
The facial animations probably haven't changed too much from ME2, but after playing something like LA Noire last year, they do seem a bit more stiff and wooden.
It's funny, the council of generals that Shepard has to report to... their noses all look the same, did anybody else notice that? Shepard has this really well done nose, but then the cutscene goes to the generals and they all have that identical Roman nose that's bent downwards.
The added leap or dodge mechanic didn't seem all that useful to me, cause I'm playing as a Soldier. I'm still just taking cover and shooting from cover. But for a Vanguard or some other class, it might prove really useful.
It's a little hard to believe that the sensors of Sector 001, Earth, wouldn't have detected the incoming armada of Reapers. I mean, I can understand that scout ships at the outer fringes would just be wiped out before reporting anything, but you would imagine Earth defenses would have some sort of long range sensor network. And Reapers can't cloak, as far as I know? If they can, I guess that would explain why they only appeared right above Earth. And speaking of Earth... why did they go there first? The Reapers originally were supposed to warp in through the Citadel, so you'd figure they would head there first, just out of habit. But no, they strike at Earth, leaving the Citadel for later? Kinda peculiar.
Also not sure why the Reapers landed on the planet itself and started walking around and firing their lasers all War of the Worlds style. Wouldn't it be easier to just stay out in space and nuke the site from orbit, as it were? Orbital bombardment seems like a no brainer.
So Anderson stays behind and tells Shepard to go convince the Council to help? Well, why? Why wouldn't Anderson go himself, he's actually been on the Council, in my game, while Shepard went and worked for Cerberus, and then they apparently took his ship away and grounded him? It seems like the Council would have Anderson in greater favor and probably listen to him more then Shepard.

I like some parts of reddit, but most of the larger subs are entitled and/or misogynistic circlejerks, in this case both. You just gotta toss in the downvote and get out of there before the comments melt your brain.
She's an excellent writer -- she wrote Anders, Sebastian, and she wrote the first pass of the dwarven stories in DA: Origins before going on mat leave. (EDIT: Clarity -- she wrote all of Anders/Sebastian, and the reason she only did the first pass of the dwarven stuff was because she went on mat leave)
The interview is taking some of what she says out of context, and she's also being somewhat hyperbolic.
For which of course fans are completely justified in mocking her appearance and coming up with joke posts about how she's going to make gay romance required in Mass 3, because fans are classy like that.
But really, I don't think anyone would argue that having OPTIONAL systems that make it easier to find your way through plots is a bad thing, for people like me who get lost all the time. And I don't think anyone would argue that having OPTIONAL super-low difficulties for people who love the story but can't do the combat because they are JUST THAT BAD is a bad thing. (My only request was that combat-based achievement accumulation get disabled on Narrative Mode, so you can't get something like the "Get 25 Headshots" award if you're playing on Narrative -- and I think we got that.)

why is this so bad? it's the reason they put in "story mode". I don't have a problem with it, as long as other difficulty/play modes are available for those, like me, who want more combat.

That's because you're a reasonable person, and these are great ideas. You guys are in the business of making story-based games. People wanting to play your games for the story is a pretty huge compliment.
That, and even though the gameplay may have been criticized I still think it's more than just functional, I think it's good so far. And with all the improvements in ME3 from customization, variable cooldowns, weapon mods, better enemy AI and more variety? Yeah, I can definitely see the gameplay as an incentive to play the game itself. People say the multiplayer is much fun - which I agree upon - and if you realize that multiplayer focuses pretty much completely on the gameplay-aspect then that's all that needs to be said.

Yeah. There are entire generations of gamers who love RPGs but did not grow up with shooters. Mass Effect can be intimidating to these people.
More options = good thing. That's about all there is to it. Hell, if there was a "Just play the boss battles and get all the story" option in JRPGs, I'd use it every time.

Isabel in DA2 always had the best one though: "If we kill them we get to keep their stuff!"
i turned on flycam.
hahahahaha. its..weirdly detailed.

"flipped tits over ass and hammered like a bent nail?"
not sure where they could use that one in me3, however.
Glad I have it queued up on 360 then.

she has a point.

Only the first quote about how she doesn't like combat in games. The internet at large has no record of anything else in that being remotely true.
She does sound terrible. And David Jaffe directly addressed this sort of person in his DICE speech.
Well, she did write Anders in DA2 so I could see why people would have a beef against her. Also, reddit really is just /v/ on a delay, aren't they?

Trying to get names for the Collectors eh? I won't fall for your trap. I won't be the next to be abducted.
I will fight for the lost, as indicated on the results page.
