I'm just enjoying the bizareness of it all.
Godzilla vs. Barkley hinged on a commercial that was made before the comic, this is just like a mad lib comic and basketball mash.

I'm reading New Avengers, the one after Disassembled. I'm on the issue where Captain America is going around talking to everyone about joining the team. It seems like it's going to be a pretty low tier team to me. Well, if you don't count Sentry at least. But it's not like he needs a team anyway.
Anyone have that pic handy of the chalkboard of events coming? We haven't see Ultron War so just wondering what else may still play out in Marvel Now.

A-Babies vs. X-Babies is good, and full of cameos, from Power Pack to Baby Ray Bill. There's just very little dialogue outside of those preview pages. I was expecting much more name calling than what we got.
It's got a bunch of scenes that you'll come back to check, like:
Who the hell cares about Bucky Bear, when you have the Pet Avengers toys? Lockjaw plushie, that's your go to toy!
Hawkeye is a sociopath, "killing" Banshee, Beast, Nightcrawler, and even shooting Spidey for some reason.
Bishop and Luke Cage fight each other, black on black violence needs to stop!
The only downside is that the DD joke isn't as good as the Mini Marvels DD jokes. Other than that, worth a read, and full of avatar and sig swipes.

Mini Marvels was so great. There were so many little throwaway gags that made me laugh more than the blatant obivous ones.

So I guess Bendis is really cleaning up his toys/ mess. I read that in Avengers #32

Consequences #3, we start to see Cyclops new plan:
He seems to be positioning himself to have his school appear after he gets out, where he trains the older people who might have developed mutant powers, the kind of people who had nothing until they became mutants. That's a good way to further explore Cyclops' goal in making the world safe for all mutants. He also won't let Magik (it seems) break him out, because he is not a criminal but a political prisoner. I still think Cable will break him out, but only after some clear miscarriage of justice or something, like he gets the prison guards beating him on tape or somesuch. Or Cable could just be throwing a wrench into Scott's plans despite his best intentions.
Storm also seems to be the one on the inside who's helping keep Cyclops' team from being found.
There is one dumb scene where Cap and Maria Hill act like they aren't the highest powers in the land, because thinking like that leads to people like Cyclops. It's like whatever dudes, your threat of force kind of started all this (especially Hill, her threat to Cap years ago started Civil War). It's one of those things where it's clearly ignoring what just happened.
A good issue, Gillen is trying to set up all the branches leading into NOW, and Scot Eaton really needs to be on a bigger profile book.
