Yeah I don't think the complaint is 'the game is too easy' so much as 'the hardest difficultly available isn't hard enough'. I don't see any reason to go around trying to rebalance the difficulty of the entire game. Just add one or more difficulties at an even higher level.
I'll half agree. The game is too easy in the sense that you can break it wide open without trying very hard. Every difficulty needs things like unified potion cooldowns and the removal of the +damage components from crafting.
The fact that it's still not that hard when you deliberately cripple yourself is what means that it needs the additional difficulty level.
Played through the game last nite, finishing something like 209 quests? Mild OCD doesn't let me leave an area without completing all the glowing yellow thingies first. Def. ended up looting then vendoring like 150 greater damage potions at the end there...

You beat the game and did 209 quests last night? I'm impressed!
Lame joking aside, I just started junking everything I found except for the occasional piece of equipment. The fact that the loot interface had a dedicated junk button is the only thing that kept me from going crazy. If only it hadn't taken me 5 hours to find it.

Loving this game. The reckoning mode, whilst it does make some of the harder fights really easy, is awesome. I love some of the finishing moves. One I saw last night my dude had massive bear claws on his hands and snapped some dudes neck and I can't remember exactly what it was, but the one I did on one of those Niskaru Lords was awesome.
Two things I really hope the patch adds is a feature that removes the trainers from the map once you've used them, and removing the pristine shards from the strengthen shards window.
More UI enhancement suggestions:
- Crafting screens should show the number of components left.
- Your recently sold items should be placed on top automatically in the buyback screen.
- Ability to set multiple markers on the minimap.
Would be nice to have:
- Boost stash size up. In fact, make it unlimited if possible! Makes collecting uniques/sets possible.
- Shared stash would be fabulous.
- Stacking of repair kits. Lockpicks can already be stacked, why not repair kits?
So I've been looking at this game for a while, trying to decide if I should get it or not. I tried the demo and liked the combat a lot and the artistic style is kinda nice.
But how is the story? Would you guys recommend it based on the story? No spoilers please. Just tell me if the game is worth it on the story.

I wouldn't pay full price for the story.
I would pay full price for the combat. OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

The storylines for the House of Ballads and the House of Sorrows are awesome, since they deal with the Fae. The rest of the story can get a little generic at times, but is never bad.
I suppose I'll pick it up then after I finish up Skyrim, maybe there will be a Steam deal between then and now. I can handle a generic story. Matter of fact, sometimes generic can be a good thing.

I do wish more Fae interactions later in the game reference the House of Ballads storyline.
In Dalentarth, people occasionally freak out that you're the leader of the House of Ballads and why are you helping *them* and so on, but I don't think I've seen it much later on.

And game complete, just under 80 hours. Skipped the last 3 sidequests or so, missed 3 autumn lorestones *somewhere*, guess I'll go back and get that stuff at some point.

If you read Todd's interview the other day, I thought it was pretty cool he mentioned, when asked about his favorite part of Reckoning, the Fae and Ysa as his favorite. Always enjoy hearing artists of his stature talk about 'favorite' stuff.

Talking about McFarlane, Curt I am pretty damn surprised that you guys are going to release Copernicus this year already.
Got any info on when we'll see the first screenshots/footage?
I haven't read up on Copernicus, but if it is anywhere close to the quality of Reckoning I am buying it day 1. This game has been the best surprise in years. It's one of those very rare games (for me) where I say to myself "if I had the talent to actually make a game, I'd make it just like this". What a gem.
I have to take back my kneejerk on the xpac for the zombie pirate thing. After seeing the actual character designs the dudes look awesome. Throwing my money at the screen.

They already had my money when they decided to do a difficulty adjustment pack and release an UNDEAD PIRATE DLC, that also happens to have another thing I wanted: A money sink stronghold.
So now I have a use for my four million gold, undead pirates to beat up and apparently improved difficulty? Why yes, the KoA guys are my favourite developers, thanks for asking. Plus all this comes at a time when I really need something to get past the ending of a certain other RPG.
Huh, is there supposed to be nothing but wind blowing during the credits? No music?
Weird.
Finally beat. I'll have to check the time on my save but I'm pretty sure I did every damn possible thing in the world, except two lorestones (one fall one summer, ugh).
Oh and one dungeon in Alabastra that was locked out for some odd reason. I didn't see any quests to open it up, maybe it's a post game thing? Is there even a post game?
EDIT: Yes there is apparently. And there wasn' a damn thing in that locked off dungeon. Anyway, a soldier in the place
you wake up said that I now have access to the private armory. Where is this? There was no armory in that building, unless those two chests that contained herbs is the "powerful armor collected".
EDIT2: oh, dur, it's his shop. Whoopie.
Give me a place to get all the random set items that you find one piece for and no others. That's really freaking annoying.
You know, since I'm thinking about it, I never once saw a piece of gear with an epic gem slot.
Epic gems are for blacksmithing. When you create a chest and have the relevant Sagecrafting and Blacksmithing levels, you can add an epic gem to the item. They're very powerful gems.
I'll have to check again another time, but I think that's what I thought was how you used Epic Gems @Lanrutcon but I seem to recall having some on me and them not showing up in the list of gems I could apply. Maybe I wasn't thinking it was chest only, so I missed it.
Anyone know what the price on the DLC is supposed to be?
It looks cool but honestly I'm a bit burned out on the game. I think they could have easily cut out half the dungeons/quests in the game and it actually would have ended up for the better. It just starts dragging on if you're someone like me and are more or less incapable of skipping anything. So many pointless quests that don't even add to the lore, and copy/paste dungeons that just start to blend together and make what was otherwise a relatively interesting art style feel generic.
That's not to say I didn't really enjoy the game, because I did. It was a lot of fun, overall, and one of the better games I've played in awhile.
Oh and ROFL at those fucking 10 books that are scattered across the world rewarding you 300 gold and nothing else.
Picked this back up after dropping it for ME3. I made it to the House of Valor. Man, some of the exhibition fights are a load of bullshit. The sprite one in particular, which I've heard complaints about before. Stunlocking is way too good in this game, on both sides of the ball.
So anyone knows if the long-awaited patch will hit together with the DLC? I've actually shelved playing this due to the camera issues and the zone level locking stuff.

Almost done...but I've only got 9 more days until Warriors Orochi 3 hits and steals me away, so I'm on a deadline.
Fail Origin. Why didn't I just buy this on steam!
