CROSS CANADIAN RAGWEED - good band, out of oklahoma, not currently together any more, however several members stayed together and formed Cody Canada & The Departed. CCR used to be a pretty big deal in red dirt/texas country. very loud and some of the best shows that i've been to have been headlined by Cross.

it occurs to me if Dolly Parton was more willing to beat a bitch's ass like Loretta Lynn, she wouldn't have had so many problems with that hussy Jolene.
take that girl to fist city, Dolly, she aint woman enough to take your man >:I
well not a whole lotta women in the tx country area BUT pretty good band called THE TRISHAS. i enjoy their sound very much. i think they fit solidly under americana
only posted the acoustic versions of bingham's work cause i hate dealing watching VEVO videos. anyway he has three solid albums under his belt each a little different than the last.
mescalito and roadhouse sun remain my favorite, but junky star has a few goodies i enjoy

My mom used to play Joshua Judges Ruth for me all the time, so I have a love of that album.
I have trouble drawing the line between what is acceptable posting in a country music thread, because I tend to like stuff that is more folk/Americana. So like, Joan Baez isn't really country. I'm pretty sure. And neither's Woody Guthrie, right?
If you guys are interested in a usually great spread of Americana, folk, and alt country, check out WMNF (iTunes Radio under Eclectic) on Tuesdays 12-3
I get introduced to a new group pretty much every week.

Happily. It looks like this is a full time station which is awesome. WMNF is very sporadic and all over the map, genre-wise.

Here is my favourite Patsy Cline song, which for some reason was not mentioned previously.

George Jones didn't bother with that shit he just went out and got a DUI on a riding mower
Also thumbs up Jasconius for Those Darlins!
But maybe I can help fill in a few deficiencies...
Like the absence of John Prine, for one thing.
Maybe some Emmylou? Did that happen yet?
And okay there's been a lot of Cash already, but this is the best best song, you guys.
