I'm just hanging out if someone needs an invisible friend to run around reviving people.

I'm going to have to try Gold sometime. These days I'm able to save my rockets for the extraction on Silver, and that's just too easy.
Last extraction with SoundsPlush and others on Novaria and the Cerberus dudes didn't even make it onto the landing pad, we had beaten them back so far.
it's the only "loyalty crisis" I remember enjoying
What, you mean you didn't think "Miranda and Jack have a catfight" was an interesting and complex conflict?

mark meer and jennifer hale are both pretty excellent shepards and after finishing me2 as both I can't help but think anyone that argues vehemently that one is WAAAAAAAY better than the other is an insufferable twat

Honestly, that was true in ME1. By the time ME2 rolled around Meer had upped his game and while I still think his performance is inferior to Hale's, it's not a drastic difference. It's more "good" versus "better", not "bad" versus "good". I'm sure he's improved in the intervening time, and I'll probably import that soldier I've kept since ME1 just to hear his version...

I have a personal preference for Hale, but yes, they are both great voice actors, and the arguments are pretty silly.

I thought we'd settled on Meer being "I'm hear to save the fucking galaxy. Help me or get out of my way." and Hale being more "I'm here to save the galaxy and I have no time for your shit."
One thing that might help Hale haters is to make an older looking Shepard, because I cannot see Meer's voice working on Default Shepard or any dude that looks under, say, 35.
That said, I made mine to look about 37-38, and it worked so well. Bit of a Riker type.

I don't know if those descriptions are really that different

The Garrus/Zaeed one is pretty boss, but all the things you gotta do to see it are insane, you'd never see it by accident basically.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

I just want Denzel Washington to voice Shepard. Is that too much to ask for?

@takyris, is the demo instrumented for stuff like monitoring multiplayer power useage, kills, weapon useage, etc, the way ME2 was instrumented for decisions? It'd be hilarious to see the statistics for things like most number of kills a single Phantom has gotten.
I thought we'd settled on Meer being "I'm hear to save the fucking galaxy. Help me or get out of my way." and Hale being more "I'm here to save the galaxy and I have no time for your shit."
That is...
Actually a pretty good analogy for the difference in how they deliver their lines.
And also neatly captures why my preference is toward Hale, because "I have no time for your shit" is how I like to think the "canon" Shepard would act.

You can either stand by my side or you can get crushed under my heel but you will not get in my way.

We're had this talk many times ever since ME2 came out.

I had to go to counseling for that in third grade. Not falling for that story again!
...since I don't have the demo downloaded. If my wireless stops acting up once the game's arrived, I would love to play with you guys.

It is my most favorite convo option.
What, you mean you didn't think "Miranda and Jack have a catfight" was an interesting and complex conflict?
Let me

Yes, welcome to SE++.
Yeah, that's one of the instances where I think the Paragon option is even better than the Renegade interrupt.
Because while punching her is hilarious and cathartic, the Paragon dialogue is an immensely satisfying reversal and sick burn rolled into one.
was that the only other one
I hated it, but I couldn't remember if there was another
will do m'dogg

I wanted to take it back basically mid button press
There was going to be another one with Mordin and Grunt
but that was cut for obvious reasons
he made me believe it

It's really good. Never stuck with it, though.
Just can't see my Shepard not punching.
Or bothering to remember names much after Akuze, especially with the dead and/or drunk bits.
Also, yeah. I prefer ME2 Hale, but the videos I've seen say Meer's pretty solid. Which is nice.
Why I fear the ocean.
My money's on turrets being the biggest killer.
Best thing about playing on the PC versus the xbox is no dang forever load times.

Way I heard it said, that I rather like, is this.
MeerShep's "I'm the hero, dammit!"
HaleShep, it's more "I'm the hero? dammit."
Wait a minute, Munkus. You're just yanking me around here, aren't you?
Why I fear the ocean.
