Played some Terran during lunch. The macro feels a ton different than protoss. Mainly all the waypointing and weird upgrades going on. Never knew how many barracks with what add-ons I wanted.
Mostly, my hands felt strange. I ended up changing nearly every hotkey to be something Protoss-ish.
Scouting/drops on Q and `
Army on 1-2-3,
Command Centers on 4 with E for SCV and C for Mule
Barracks on W (lol)
Factory on 5 (usually robo)
Starport on 6 (usually stargate)
All upgrades on 7 (usually forge, tab through to get to tech-labs etc)
Build all buildings with similar things. So Barracks is G (gateway), Supply Depot is E (pylon), Command Center can be N, etc.
Reapers are indeed fun but wonky as all hell. Fun to jump up a cliff with 8 reapers and a medivac though. Unless your reapers take a Thor volley.
Didn't you play the campaign?
Nope. Well, like 3 levels. I hated it.
Also, the command for massing marines with this setup is literally 'waaaaaaaa'
Darkforce must play with HP bars off. He could've killed IdrA's third about 20 times by now, but keeps attacking everything but the Hatchery, even though it's on <100 hp.

Just watched some MKP streaming. His micro is ridiculous. In three games he:
-defeated a Reaper rush, into amazing Tank position
-overran a out of position army (returning from a failed drop)
-defended a proxy two rax with only one rax
He should be banned from everything.

waiting on Kime vs theSquid, Demonllama vs Kebeh, and Joe K vs thirtyeighth in Jailyard vs JustCheese. Currently, I have the score at 3-2 in favor of JustCheese, so very close.
The other match is tied at 2-2, waiting on results from Keamien vs Sceptre, Kedinik vs Mosez, Iowa vs Euphemon, and Narwhal vs Callow.
Ace matches are possible in both cases still!

we need to sweep or we face an ace vs. hummingbird
we need to sweep or we face an ace vs. hummingbird
How come the ace matches always gotta be tier one players. You all should rotate the aces matches.
Ace [eys] noun, verb, aced, ac·ing, adjective :
5. a very skilled person; expert; adept:
That's why.
Seriously fuego? You're giving me the definition of the word ace? That's your argument? So call it something else then. Call it the deciding match. Call it the clutch match. Call it the super-happy-fun-time-PA-number-one match for all I care. I just think it'd be fun to mix it up a bit.
Still can't believe you quoted the definition of ace as an argument. You're killing me fuego
Ace match should be the best player, because if you force it to be a lower league player you wind up with something like Kebeh against Demonllama, or MMMig vs 38th etc.

I disagree with whatever ZvZ tips were posted in the last few pages as I skimmed. Here's how I approach the early game of the matchup.
Three relevant build orders. (6pool kinda sucks, so it doesn't count)
10 pool
14g14p
some sort of hatch->pool
So, as 10pool < 14g14p < hatch->pool < 10pool.
If I have a 14g14p vs 10 pool, I'm naturally ahead (and my speed comes faster, unless it's a specialty 10p build), and I'll open speedling expand into roaches, cause his econ won't allow him to build enough stuff I can't defend with roaches, and working a baneling defense is more volatile and more likely to throw away your lead.
If I have 14g14p vs hatch->pool, I'm slightly behind, but I speedling expand, and exert map control keeping him in the dark, putting us back in even grounds.
If I have 14g14p vs 14g14p, you can do whatever you want, I usually either be agressive with ling/banes or defend with ling/banes.
If I have hatch->pool vs 14g14p, I open roaches (to get a drone lead, as roaches cost less larvae) and between roaches, queens, spine crawlers, and a few lings, it can handle anything 14g14p throws at you, you can cut corners if you see an expo from them (have overlord on top).
If I have hatch->pool vs 10 pool, I cry and try to work magical micro, then it usually ends in me gg'ing out.
If I have hatch->pool vs hatch->pool, same as 14g14p vs 14g14p, do whatever you want, go ling/banes and be aggressive forcing him to execute a good defense or die.
10p vs 14g14p, The earlier queen let's you catch up on drone count if necessary, your ling speed comes later so you'll need to play defensive, but don't go roaches cause you don't have the econ/lead to do so. You can try to catch a timing where you'll have lings than him due to queen injects.
10p vs hatch->pool, Win. Win as in W-I-N.
10p vs 10p, same as the other mirror openers, do whatever you want, either be aggressive and win or be greedy and don't die.
TL;DR-Go roaches if you're ahead, via the outcome of any fights, or simple build order wins. Easier to defend allins with, better unit into the midgame. Go ling/bling and try to do damage if you're behind. You can't count on being greedy and your opponent not punishing you for it. Or if you choose not to do damage at the moment now, and try to do damage later, economy in SC2 has the snowball effect, and you'll be further behind, making it less likely to succeed.
I think Stephano would change his opinion on this if he consistently faced the top Korean Protoss and spent less time dominating all the terrible European Protoss.
From what I can gather so far, Stephano's stream is kinda similar to IdrA's in that Stephano also has a not-too-subtle loathing of nearly everyone he plays on the ladder. The difference is that IdrA dislikes them because he thinks they're bad and do stupid things that happen to beat him, while Stephano dislikes them because he thinks they're bad and don't pose any challenge.

Sounds about right.

Though I would say that assuming Dhal would be available, an ace versus hummingbird, while suboptimal, is not a death sentence.

Then you can have anyone play anyone and it will be awesome.

Good point... those convicts are already perpetually intoxicated.
In that case, I'd recommend one finger from their "keyboard hand" be cut off for every league they may be higher.

He thinks ZvP is "very favoured for the Zerg".
So your saying if a Masters is playing a gold, you only get 2 fingers? Mulligan!
