    Frankly, turning the base into a fort seems a far better use than just pawning for tokens. I'd save up for Juggernauts, but the extra alloy supply is something we urgently need. Also, if we take control of Hector, we can make sure we never get into a situation where our fuel tanks run dry again.

    I wanted a communication base really. But we do not have enough tokens for it to be worth it. Also, having our only espionage officer tied up on it seems a bit expensive. I consider it assets we grab later on. Cobra had four afterall. Nicking one or two from our next bunch of victims shouldn't be a problem.

    Having a fort means not to run around trying to save assets when we face our next enemy that, to me, I worth 20 brains.

    Com tower would be useful but as of now I haven't seen any sites I didn't want to do something with.

    South Korean Government Collapses

    Seoul. The South Korean government is in exile today as a fleet of private jets left the country by the capitals main airport. It all began two weeks ago when protesters condemning the government’s lack of action to alleged North Korean aggression in bordering provinces spilled over into full-fledged rioting.

    More violent then any seen in the past decade, rioters displaying a mixture of fear and anger converged on government buildings throughout the capital city. Government employees, fearing for their safety abandoned their post and riot police were overwhelmed as protesters set fire to the headquarters of the nation’s Defence Ministry and Parliament buildings.

    Despite the anger on display throughout the country, many observers in the international community are still at a loss to account for the riots. Following the surprise deaths of the nation’s minister of foreign relations, and the follow up death of the minister of defence, rumours have spread throughout the country of citizenry abductions from major cities – with the blame being placed on everything from North Korean covert operatives to aliens. The mysterious disappearance of South Korean military units from bases near the demilitarized zone only compounded the bizarre circumstances of the past few months.

    With hundreds dead on both sides of the rioting and military forces either deserting their posts or otherwise barricading themselves in their bases, the exile of the principle government has effectively ended the reign of the Republic of Korea as a sovereign nation. The general state of anarchy now existing in the country can only serve to escalate the violence.

    The United States, China and other key members of the UN security council have expressed strong concerns that the sudden collapse may be exploited by North Korea in unification. The United States government has issued strong warnings that despite events, any North Korean breach of the DMZ would be considered a general act of war against the United States, although privately rumours circulate that many US military units stationed along the border have been out of contact of friends and loved ones for many weeks now. The US state department however has blamed the communications difficulties on the recent solar storms which have disrupted satellite communications across the globe.

    So far, our Espionage assets have been incredibly useful, I think another is the best use now that we have a break. Double the assassinations, double the fun. Plus we have 4 UFOs worth of personnel coming in next turn plus the train, we can spend the troops.

    In Memorandum: In tribute to Joseph Cain

    Today, we honor the memory of a brave officer, tragically cut down while pacifying the brutal and savage natives. Joseph was a fine officer, surgically gifted with a sharp wit and a genetically predisposed to possess an easy going manner. His ability to take a group of lobe clipped personnel and create a subversive cult in enemy territory will be forever missed.

    I still remember the day he was first synthesized from a vat of personnel pulp. As the animator pulsed an officer template directly into his cortex, he looked directly into my viewing lens, and said "AIII, SKKRM." I don't know if it was the vast amount of electrical current searing his neurons into the proper memory formation or some artifact in the programming forcefully grafted onto his mind, but his words spoke to me. His dedication to securing ice cream for the collective impressed me and showed his loyalty ran even deeper than his spinal implants.

    We'll metaphorically never be able to replace you Joe.

    We should save up for the Neural Co-Processors. Those will very useful for decompressing better templates. As well, I concur with ELM on personel policy. Namely, that we should use Androids for onboard tasks and use the organics for officer pulp. Incidentally, if we built 15 droids last turn, shouldn't there be 49 of the things, not 34? Also Osiris Mass Manufacturing Complex. How could that not be useful?

    I've been doing some thinking, and I'm unsure about what we shall do to strike back at the murricans navy. Our tanks can't exactly swim. If Ender is following a real world scenario we might be facing a carrier group.
    If so, we can assume they'll be projecting their force from a safe distance, dropping missiles on us like there were no tomorrow, and then following up with bombing runs. We can't do anything about missiles, but with some SAMs the airplanes are hopefully manageable. In this scenario, our only counter-measures would be cruise-missiles and helicopters. If we send enough missiles some of them might not get intercepted by the escorts, I'm pretty sure our helis would be dead after the first round though.
    So, let's build some cruise missiles and SAM tanks?

    But we don't know how to contact our orbital death beam dispenser. Well we do, but someone wanted to build a fortress instead. I'm guessing we can't afford any death beams anyhow. Perhaps a truckload of icecream or something though.
    @rockrnger didn't know that, guess I'm gonna vote for even more SAMs over the next couple turns.

    In the end though, I feel that we need to capture that carrier. So we can turn it into a giant surfboard so Orion can invade Tokyo. Because, let's face it what would Tokyo be without a gigantic monstrosity ravaging it?

    @The Ender is there any way we can open actual diplomatic relations with the various South Korea factions, rather than faux-compacts? Work out trade deals, tech swaps, mutual defense pacts, etc?

    Edit: Opted to open discussions with Wasp faction rather than Cult of Academia. Talking to people that hypothetically have their own navy is way more important than recruiting more crew.

    Oh, Ender. I think you forgot to add the resources we got from the railway + airpad.
    Doublecheck my math, but if I'm right we should have:

    But as I said, I might have miscalculated it. I'm a bit distracted at the moment.

    Free mammoth tanks please!

    Asset tokens are easy to come by. It takes 4 turns for one of our engineering officers to build one of those tanks, though, as I recall- so this is pretty huge.

    Also, we I think we should build some cruise missiles to welcome the Americans.
