The site has sprung to life again.
A single quote is found on the site along with the iconic logo:
"The Lord of Murder shall perish, but in his doom he shall spawn a score of mortal progeny, chaos will be sown by their passage."
So sayeth the wise Alaundo

Trent Oster, one of BioWare's former veterans, had little to say other than there will be an announcement soon

Kotaku reports there is something interesting in the web's code:
\Shadowy Figure- Raise Dead : Infinity Engine
For years, I clung to the memory of it. Then the memory of the memory.
And then... it returned. Better than it was before.

So it seems like they may be resurrecting the Infinity Engine for further adventuring. Perhaps with a new D&D rule set?
Another thing I found out from all this is that the classic games will be coming to Steam. I'm wondering if they will offer some multiplayer.
Are you intrigued?

LOVE
BALDUR'S GATE
the infinity engine games were the best things to come out of bioware
I'm guessing an app-store version for tablets
but I'm hoping for a HD PC remake
but I'm secretly wishing for a glorious singleplayer CRPG sequel that's as big as BG1+BG2+ToB that's just as deep and big and complex with a full six player party and designed from the ground up to use the mouse and still from an isometric perspective with loads of quests and text and oh god oh ogog oghgdfdsfhsduahuagaulaghagluaghagagau
YOU ARE WRONG
I

AM THE BIG BALDUR'S GATE FAN
BEHOLD MY VAST LET'S PLAY SERIES
WITH CLASSIC SINGLE PLAYER AND CUSTOM MULTIPLAYER PARTIES FOR ALL TASTES
My main complaint with DA2 was that it became less baldur's gate than the first game, and so I hated it.
Do you... do you actually have this? I would be interested in watching.
STOP ROLO YOU'RE JINXING IT
Trent said this:
"We're not related to the Steam complete edition, I can tell you that much. Other than that, we're hoping to announce something soon."
So, independant former BioWare producer, stating they're not related to the complete edition and they will be saying something about it soon.
That's all we have for now.

I missed the Baldur's Gate train the first few times around
Looking forward to catching it this time, whatever it is

yes scarab yes
let's just hug each other now and dream
dream of an impossible future
I AM THE BIGGEST BG FAN
Oh my god I
Still no other game comes close
All of it
But mainly I, II and Throne of Bhaal
Tales of the Sword Coast I never completed mainly because just by playing the first game I always maxed out my level, and it doesn't add to the story in the way ToB does
You know what made me sad? Learning that Troika planned to do a VTM: Bloodlines-esque FPSRPG set in the Arcanum universe
And by sad I mean I actually looked skyward and screamed
Stand.
oh man they'd be so much better at party characters now though
also can I please have a planar sphere again
and my own keep of which I am lord
wizard 4 lyfe
They're on GOG, with no DRM, IIRC.

You will suffer!
You will ALL suffer!
This just ruined my day. Goddamn that would have been amazing. And buggy as shit. But amazing nonetheless
best

yeah they can't possibly continue the ToB storyline given how it all goes down at the end
but damn I'd love to have my power team back

My PC as a Monk/Assassin/Archer/Swashbuckler
My heart is still broken from my savegame that I'd imported from BG1 and was about 3/4ths of the way through BG2 being lost, though.
the remastered BG1 is rather tempting

For real.
Great news if they're coming to Steam, too.
Shit I didn't even make it thought Planescape and I feel bad because everybody says Planescape is so good.
I wish they had adapted the original Tomb of Horrors for BG at some point
But Watcher's Keep was basically the closest we got, and it was soooo gooood
Baldur's Gate is an immensely playable series; sure, the writing may not be as great, and the dialogue seems pretty cheesy at times, but it has a fantastic learning curve (IMO) and you really get to grow with your character.
