Consdiering how lore-heavy they appear to be trying to make the multiplayer, do you think they have an explanation for why Cerberus attacks in waves as opposed to all at once?
I mean, combined that would be, what, ten Atlases, a little more than a dozen Phantoms, and dozens of everything else. A Blitzkrieg strategy would probably even get Shepard.
I'm only now noticing that the Vanguard has no melee or weapon kill metals. I'm impressed because it obviously worked for the guy, but at the same time I'm really curious as to how he managed that.

ChargeNovaChargeNovaChargeNova? That's the biotic kills medal he's got there, isn't it?
Nobody remembers the singer. The song remains.

Still wish there was a better way to take out those damn shield guys though. You'd think a giant Krogan who can kill unarmored guys in one hit could pull that little shield out of their weak little hands and beat them with it :P
Carnage, then AR fire to the head while they're staggered. Alternatively, Carnage + pistol or light sniper rifle is also acceptable; the stagger animation is predictable and makes for easy headshots.
Oh, and you can burninate them with a grenade if you toss the grenade so that it lands behind them.
Im just wondering does anyone know what each upgrade of the weapons does?
More damage is my assumtion but it's hard to tell from the weapon stats so I'd like to know if I'm on the right track...
Also does anyone buy rookie packs or is it better to just keep buying veteran packs?
I know from observation that additional ranks in a weapon will increase clip/reserve ammo amounts and reduce weight. I assume (but cannot readily measure) that things like accuracy/recoil/damage are also boosted.
I only get veteran packs, but then again I hax'd myself like ten million credits.

Did it ever strike anyone as weird that everyone calls shepard by last name regardless of familiarity? I mean I know why they did it for gameplay reasons it just surprised me they never worked in a "John" here and there for the people that picked the default.
"Will....will you teach me this thing called LOVE?"
"Sure but you have to refer to me by last name or "Sir" for the rest of this mission. Just because I play "Hide the Normandy" with you doesn't mean I don't run my ship MILITARY!"

Yeah, those are all semi successful strategies. Still a royal pain to deal with in groups, and most of those strategies preclude you from running around with a shotgun.
Once I actually get a decent pistol (which probably won't be until the full game) I may try to run around with the Pistol-only method. Or pistol and shotgun, with fewer carnage shots.
Hey I can still get that Kingdoms of Alamur DLC right? Or has that offer expired? I have some time to kill tomorrow and I figure I want my Disc launcher.
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
am i guessing right that the whole crew just chill out and do thier own thing when you go? guess its more natural or maybe its a set piece grounded moment? Does look very nice.

A few of the characters give Shepard a nickname, so that's something.

I don't know, plenty of people can be called by their second name rather than their first name. (In my experience, usually with an 'o' added to the end.)

I think it may be the muscles, plus the fauxhawk, multiplied by the tattoos that lends him the bro ideal image.
edit: He is The Situation's dream child.

He is the stereotypical bro ideal -visually-. Maybe he likes to recite shakespear in his spare time, who knows. But the look about him says he likes to smash beer cans on his head and read Fornax. I'm going with that.
Also, they're making a film about him (his backstory, anyway.)

Alright. Multiplayer is fun as heck! And addictive too! Haven't unlocked any new characters yet though, and I'm always getting either katana upgrades or a mattlock.
And even if he was a frat boy broseph, who popped his collars and wore spray tan. Even if that was the case, his character is a soldier. A soldier in the more dire and unwinnable war ever perceived by man. A volunteer. A highly capable warrior who is a member of the last, best chance for humanity; The Normandy.
Does that not earn him respect? As a character? What more does he have to do before we judge books by their covers?
Dismissing him as that kind of person because of his appearance, no matter whether he is or is not, is one step away from outright racism, gentlemen.

Business as usual in the ME thread, in other words.
Have we really reached the point where all people ever with muscles are considered frat boy brosephs by the nerd community?
Protip: He's a fucking soldier. Soldiers are well built at the worst of times.
oh but they arent.
you should go look at the uk's minimum fitness requirements for service in the army.
it's something like 44 push ups in 2 minutes amongst other things.

I think in ME3 for my "fuck biotics we got BULLETS" squad i'm going to roll with
Ash and Vega. Just 3 alliance marines shooting the fuck out of everything.

Lovin' this.
If you don't mind losing Carnage at an appreciable use rate, the Widow turns them into a fine red mist straight through the shield.

Tis true, but sniper Krogan is kind of boring Krogan. I would much rather be head-butting my way to victory.

Now I have just under 7 days to 100% ME2 which I think is probably enough
I KNOW WHO MY NEW BRO IS
Also Vega sounds as dumb as he looks. That's good.
.....
Mother of God.
They went all out with the shirtless scenes in this game.
Still didn't get the hands quite right, though that's understandable and not nearly as bad as Dragon Age 2. [/nitpick]

Have you listened to his dialogue with the DLC character?
Cause that's what made me think he was dumb. The things he said. Unless that's not enough evidence.

That's why it's your backup weapon with your shotgun. Use it to put down those pesky guardians then proceed to firebomb and beat the rest to death.
