Any Good PS2 Titles on the Horizon?

I know that with the PS3 released, its only a matter of time until the PS2 brand dies off and there will be no good games released for that title anymore (happened with PS1 and recently Gamecube). However, are there any games that will be released this year that will help keep this day from coming to fruition? I know God of War 2 comes out sometime this month, but are there any other quality games coming out for this system or can I only expect a rehash of EA Sports game from now on?

There will be a few notable titles, surely, but if the life cycle of the PS (and, come to think of it, the Xbox) is any indication, the number of games that aren't ports, sports games or based on licenses will dwindle.

Yeah, I noticed the topic, but I was more curious as to what games are actually being released to help keep the system thriving.

God of War 2, Persona 3, and... that's about it. I'd say Dawn of Mana, but it looks like shit.

That's all that I know of, but I have no idea of what to expect of the quality of any of these. Except Metal Slug and GOW2, both of which are shit hot awesome.

If it ever comes out. First it was supposed to be in December, then February, then March 1 and now it's March 26. I really hope SNK stop pushing this back and release it soon. this is the 4th time they have pushed it back now.

Mercenaries 2 is coming out for PS2, but it remains to be seen how it will stack up against the new gen version

And Guitar Hero '80's edition is rumored to be coming out this spring sometime

Burnout Dominator is coming out for ps2. awesome, i'll probably end up picking the xbox version if it comes on it though. hm new spider-man game, it'll probably be a pale comparison to the ps3 version tho, sux. hopefully dawn of mana will be good.

The Art of Fighting collection is coming for the PS2 as well, and SNK has been hinting about releasing some other stuff.

Edit: I thought RockStar said that they weren't going to port Vice City Stories to the PS2?

They always say that, but nevertheless, it is confirmed as coming to the PS2 in March. They don't want people to bypass the PSP version because they know that they'll get the PS2 version shortly after.


Apparently, though, Take2 is going through a rough transition from last gen to this one, financially speaking. So it's no surprise to me that Vice City Stories is now PS2-bound. Especially considering how these high-production-value portable games are supposedly selling mediocre; at least to the point where PS2 ports (where they do really well, sales-wise) become desirable.
