I am beyond pumped. Even though it's usually not very good Baseball, I'm watching the March games, and I've been playing MLB 2K7 all week (which is a great BB game by the way)
My teams is the Braves.
Some big stories
- Steroids, blah blah blah I don't care.
- Barry breaking the record
- Can the Cards repeat
- Can my Braves get back to October?
- Will A-Rod continue to struggle in NY?
- Will Dice-K succeed here in the States?
I love Football and all, but I long for major league competition all the time and I don't keep up with basketball that much. So from February - April, I'm usually bored out of my mind until baseball starts.
Bonds to break the record is a fucking joke.
If he goes into the record books, he needs a little asterisk by his name. At the bottom of the page, the asterisk reads as
*Steroids and shit.

In other news, I really want Dice-K to be amazing, and I really think he will be. The Sox will finally win the division against the Yanks, but be CRUSHED in the post-season (I'm a Sox fan, but I don't see them having enough depth to make it very deep in the playoffs).
The Bond's thing wouldn't bother me so much if there was someone else more legit to root for. I mean I don't think there's any denying that Bonds was pretty good even before he got all big and such but yeah. If he breaks it, and they really get ahold of the HGH problem, then it might be that no one ever breaks that record again.
Bonds was always amazing, even back when he was a sinewy little pathetic doubles hitter with decent power to the poles. I just hate him as a person, and the steroids is really aggravating baseball purists, like me.
I have a strong feeling Bonds is gonna go the way of Pete Rose... He'll break the record initially, retire, and then once his court case is finally finished, and the whole BALCO thing resolved and he is found guilty of cheating, his record will be removed and he'll be removed from baseball for life.
I like how baseball players are a bunch of whiny little bitches who go on strike evertime they don't think they're making enough money. That.. and Baseball is one of the most boring motherfucking things to watch.. ever..

Yeah, yeah, blah blah, go ahead, bitch at me how my team sucks and spends money to win.
Dude, I'm a Sox fan, and I hate people who say that. The Yanks are amazing, and have been amazing for over a century. And every team tries to "buy" the series, that's the whole point of paying the players.
However, the Yanks won't win it this year, despite Steinbrenner's desires. But don't worry, the Sox won't win it all, either. So we can enjoy disappointment together.

You mean like Hockey players (2004-2005 over 310 days and 2 season)?
And football players (1982 and 1987 strike)?
And basketball players (1998 lockout)?
Yeah, whatever. Sports is a business, and shit like that just happens from time to time in a business. People need to get over that.

I want to hug you
but I won't
Of course they won't win. The Yankees concentrate too much on offense. You look at their lineup, Doug Mientkiewicz bats ninth. On the Twins, he batted third. You've got guys up and down the line up. Johnny Damon buffed up over the summer, and then you've got guys like Matsui and Giambi in the middle of the order.
We really need to get rid of A-Rod though. We need pitching. Wang was runner-up for the AL Cy Young, but he's one of five. Andy Phillips came up as a third baseman, and we have like 3 first basemen. Just move him over, and I think it's problem solved.

STEAM!
I hope you meet football and not football.
There, I said it.
american football
the other football gets old by halftime
STEAM!
I've been saying that for years. Most fans are too busy inbreeding to listen.
The rest are just too drunk.
And possibly also inbreeding as well.
At least I think they worked out the problems the league had with it.
it's not even the national pasttime anymore
American Idol is
I saw baseball on ESPN today at lunch and it made me smile. Isn't there usually a fantasy league that goes up around this time?
Like, before it was cool to like the Yankees.
Well, after it was originally cool back in the 50's.
But before it was cool to hate the Yankees in the 90's.
no u r old.
I didn't say it was a good thing
He gets to say these things now, since he has an outside perspective.
Damn. I was really hoping the league would have blackballed that asshole.
You shut your fucking mouth, you filthy, filthy whore, you!
I hate you with every fiber of my being! Every fucking one!
Wait, what?

I see the Cards returning to the series.
That's I how I see it.

I don't know much baseball though.
