Oh and for anyone using, what is now known as, "Yahoo Widgets" you might want to check out MLBticker. It's a great one I've used for a while. widgets.yahoo.com and search MLB, it's like the 2nd result.
You can click Standings at the bottom on the regular one to toggle the standings on and off, so you don't always have to have the giant white box with the standings on.
I really think Washington could be the worst team in the Majors this year.

He is sighing very loudly because he is displeased with the Red Sox not having 4000 runs and Dice-k (and there is no limit (or explanation) to how much that shit pisses me off) isn't striking everyone out.

I hate the Sox for all the wrong reasons.
After their World Series win a few years ago, it was like friggin Red Sox mania everywhere. There are still a bunch of douchebags that wear Sox hats all the time.
We live in deep-south Mississippi, we don't have any ties with the Sox and I really doubt many people here have any family in the north east. Stop being such bandwagon bitches and wear a hat of a team you legitimately like, not one that had a great post-season one year full of upsets and bloody socks.
No offense to legitimate Sox fans but, wow, I really hate the team because I see nothing but Sox hats here and only saw them after that WS win.
I feel bad for the dude pitching against the Red Sox tonight. He threw eight shutout innings with three hits and 12 strikeouts in his debut this season, which is better than Daisuke did. Still, ESPN spent the whole afternoon beating off over Daisuke's debut against the Royals.
That's cool. How did the Braves hate get in there? Again, just curious, I'm not all offended or something.
okay to be honest i don't know, but i've been conditioned to hate the braves forever because of supposed unsportsmanlike conduct and the team being in georgia or something, i don't even know
and also in a big part i think ted turner and chipper jones
plus it just kinda makes the game more interesting to pretend you have a "need to beat" team and makes you watch the scoreboards more

Oh yeah I know what you mean.
Especially after last year, I've developed many ill feelings towards the Mets for breaking out streak. Always feels good to beat them, which we did the other day... twice.
Other than the Mets, I don't like Philly, NYY and BoSox. The latter two I think are pretty standard hates for anyone not a fan of their team.
i told my dad the rockies could lose the rest of the season, but if they win the yankees game that we have tickets to, while we're there, in front of a bunch of colorado yankees fans?
i mean i'll probably keep watching rockies games until i'm thirty
Brian McCann (young hitter/catcher on the Braves) is gah-ross when it comes to throwing out guys stealing. He's got a straight cannon with his arm and a bat.
In my franchise on MLB2k7 he leads the Majors with something crazy like 16 homers in the first month of games.

Honestly, I hate baseball if only because of the fucking rabid idiot Red Sox fans I grew up around/with.
To provide examples, there was this one kid in high school that I was friends with who was, god forbid, a Yankees fan. He caught endless amounts of the most idiotic and serious shit because he would wear a Yankees hat to school.
During baseball seasons past, I have had to just tune my friends and family out for days at a time because they just kept slobbering all over the Red Sox and whoever the fucking flavor of the month player was.

It's kind of cool that a team sucking can ruin an entire region's day though. Man, I hope the Red Sox play like shit this year.

To be fair, there are alot of idiot/asshole yankees fans too. If I grew up with a friend who was a Red Sox fan here, I'd hate baseball too. It's really dumb how the rivalry can get normally rational people so worked up.
I don't think I could take that after seeing the Celtics suck all season.
Not that they would have been any better, but the Cs have been tanking for going on a month now. That's what happens when you play bad enough to enter the Durant/Oden Sweepstakes.

I can almost stand baseball if it's live, a college game, and on a small enough field that I can clearly see the players.
Yeah, that's not gonna get old fast at all.
you too? i'm already sick of it
Yeah. It's getting pretty fucking old.
i haven't seen him throw it, just people who have, and i've just heard that "it can't be explained"
people tell me this and i just go urrrrghhhh

What I've seen (when people claim oh this is it) it just looks like a "bad" slider or one that just doesn't really break.

that was the team i was always raised to hate
*sigh* the rockies
although i've always held the a's as "my" team, because i went to my first game at a's stadium when i was four and was born in oakland
I know he's better than Hideki Irabu. At least thats what I'm repeating in my head.

On the other hand Hernandez is on my fantasy team.
On the other hand Verlander also has a shutout going into the eighth. So my pitching is doing pretty ok this week regardless.
