It's not like I forgot bombs, I had absolutely essential tech buys every round. This round it was bombs, wormhole generator, and advanced economy (pick 2); possibly I should have taken traitor and gotten my fleet completely destroyed to try to bomb out Endaro but I had 11/16 of taking that monolith if his interceptor hadn't gone and been a hero. Or I could have skipped adv economy and the 2 points it provided; in which case I wouldn't have had enough money to move my fleet and take a tile.
I think I probably should have discarded some of my terrible explores early in the game, really.
Edit: P.S.; I think blah has to abandon a 1-point system due to bankruptcy.

I will be sad if I threw the game to you due to my massive invasion that should have worked.
Oh well, that's the karma you get for invading peaceful scientists.

Hey, if you'd gone with your other plan of getting Neutron Bombs and invading the Terran Alliance, I would've sent my Heroic Interceptors™ out into the world to earn some reputation anyway. And in that case you might've ended up throwing it to Endaro by taking the Traitor card from him.
Edit: So you actually held me back from picking up an extra rep. :P
I think the expected gain from 2x3 draws is probably bigger then 3x1
Totally too lazy to do the math right now though
Also I might be wrong, seems like later in the game the bag is more likely to have all the good stuff taken out, so big draws are better early and filling your sheet is better late.

You're probably right about all of that. I probably should've dedicated some of my Orbitals to Science earlier in the game and started working on filling up the middle line, but I was just so focused on making sure I could get Monoliths (which I thought I needed) that I lost sight of everything else.
Nice win, SeGaTai. I got caught with a fleet designed to hold off Endar when your cruisers came in. Still, I had a chance there at the end, so I think that went well for a first play. Completely wasn't expecting the number of ships that were flying around at the end, after so many rounds of mostly peace.
I was actually thinking of hosting a second one with the Supernova expansion. :P Thoughts on that? It adds two planet rich outer system hexes that have a chance to explode every round. If the result of a 2d6 + least developed tech track for the owner is less than the round number, then it blows up and flips over, passable only via wormhole generator tech. It also adds in ion missiles as ancient tech, which fire 3 times for 1 damage each. Because the game needed more missiles.

Nope, the money cube you shot went to the money graveyard. Was a nice try though.
Do you have 6 points or less from rep? In that case, hooray, I win (unless Endaro got insane rep)! Otherwise, boo, congrats again.

Score
SeGaTai - Terran Union
16 (Sectors) + 5 (Tech) + 4 (Discoveries) + 1 (Alliances) + 3 (Monoliths) + 9 (Reputation - 3, 2, 2, 2) = 38
Darian - Terran Directorate
5 (Sectors) + 10 (Tech) + 4 (Discoveries) + 12 (Reputation - 4, 4, 2, 2) = 31
Endaro - Terran Alliance
14 (Sectors) + 6 (Tech) + 2 (Discoveries) + 1 (Alliances) + 3 (Monoliths) + 9 (Reputation - 3, 3, 2, 1) - 2 (Traitor) = 33
Lykouragh - Terran Republic
10 (Sectors) + 5 (Tech) + 2 (Discoveries) + 1 (Alliances) + 11 (Reputation - 4, 3, 3, 1) = 29
blahmcblah - Hydran Progress
7 (Sectors) + 10 (Tech) + 4 (Discoveries) + 9 (Monoliths) + 6 (Reputation - 3, 2, 1) = 36
Tayrun - Mechanema
8 (Sectors) + 1 (Tech) + 2 (Discoveries) + 1 (Alliance) + 9 (Reputation - 4, 3, 2) = 24
Assuming I didn't miss anything huge, it was a 2 point game, with the Terran Union inching out Hydran Progress.
Great game, everyone.
Grats, Segatai.
A million thanks for hosting, Icerimp, and giving us a chance to play this great game.
I hope I did a good job of hilighting some of the big things that can happen in this game. Hope you all see why I love it so much!
Who's hosting the next one?
I'm willing but it will have to wait until after I finish hosting a CitOW game.
