Eclipse - New Dawn for the Galaxy - Terran Union/Segatai victory
@Icerimp -- would it make more sense to make new posts for your updates (at least every full round of actions) so we can see the progression of things over time instead of only having the latest one available?
I thought this was dead in the water, glad to see it came back.
Hex 201, Explore NW.
Hex 107, advanced pink, advanced brown, orange,1 vp.
Rotate 180* and place.
Place influence token, and assuming I still have a colony ship left (image is down), place one orange cube.
The question is, how soon will I be able to take it?
The 2 ancient ships have 2 initiative, 2 HP, and roll 2d6 hitting on a 5 per round. That is 4/3 expected hits per round and 4 total HP...
At a rough guess I will probably need an upgrade action, maybe a tech, and either a dreadnought+interceptor or 2 cruisers before I can take that system, so I won't even have enough materials next round.
Edit: And I'm actually uncertain that I should have colonized my first tile- the money might be more valuable than the tech until I get a more solid econ.
As a general rule if you focus on taking a system from ancients you can conquer it at the end of round two, round three at the latest. This includes double-ancient systems.
You'll definitely be wanting some tech for it. Improved Hulls and Plasma Cannons are great for this.
Be brave! Even if you lose you'll get some VP from combat.

Research Neutron Bombs and Starbase, spending 5 Science.
I kinda assumed you'd be attacking me, so I dickmoved you first ...
Ah, we're not actually connected. Oh well. That's alright... we shall just make you the first on our list of those whom we shall annihilate once we develop our wormhole generator! MUHUHUHAHAHAAHAAAAA!
(lol j/k guiz, still peaceful)

We do not plan on making any unprovoked attacks, but our plans may change. And we cannot be blamed if we are provoked. We will not be left unprepared for battle, even if we are loath to fight.
Heh, you really did fuck me here, huh, Tayrun. Oh well. Hopefully I don't fall too far behind...
This has happened a lot in home games I've played. What you want to do is explore as many outer ring tiles as you can before they run out, and stockpile research to grab wormhole generator as soon as possible. Then slaughter me.
Orbitals might also be very useful to you, if you can spare the science to grab the tech.

Place as shown; drop an influence on it, flip my second colony ship to place an orange dude.
Terran Republic is up

Oh my.
Rotate twice counterclockwise and place.

Excellent.
Rotate one tick anticlockwise and place, connecting the northmost wormhole on sector 106 to sector 210.
Conquer.

Terran Alliance is up.
Fusion Drive, costing 3 research and 2 money.
No rotation. Place influence disc, claim discovery tile, flip colony ship to place a population cube to mine.
