Mock hip-hop cover for today's warm-up. Featured is my future brother-in-law:
I don't know if you knew this, but Alchemy has a setting that varies stroke width with the mic. I played rap while I was scribbling around just to see what it would do.
I'm with sneakers, the glasses on that paintover, and the surface of the ship in that last Prometheus one are great. As well the pics are great overall.

Would you mind talking about your process a little? I picked up Alchemy, and it's interesting but kind of tricky for me to figure out. I like it though because it's not the resource hog that Photoshop is.
When you're working in both Alchemy and Photoshop, what settings/dpi/image size/brushes do you like to use? In Alchemy, any tips or pointers for getting started or finding good brushes to work with? I'd like to practice more with your style because it's very fast, and that's how I prefer to work every time I've tried traditional art. Thanks!
Also, I love the reasoning behind the --\- signature. : )

When it comes to brushes, I use a basic pastel brush or a hard round brush. I don't care about resolution, because I love that stair-stepping quality that comes from image compression.
The brush/supplies question is strange for any artist, as I don't know if answering it is really helpful to you. The best thing I can recommend is to make your own mistakes. That being said, in Alchemy I turn on symmetry and use the shape tool.

Hey, you checked my blog! Awesome/Thanks! It's a bit silly, but I like it. Having a signature that of me but not my design choice seems to be an appropriate thing for me.
If you want to check out my process, you can catch my streaming times if you follow me on Twitter. I'll be streaming tonight.

I'll do that, what time do you usually stream? (I'm on Central US time)
Alchemy is pretty damn rad. I found a few tutorials and started playing around with it and I've got like 15 pages of multi pdf files now to dig through. I like that it's java and low resource. It works well at work when I want to bring my crappy 1st gen bamboo to work on my laptop here without photoshop.
Also I like that it default saves them as big ass 300dpi print ready files so that if you want to clean them up in photoshop for prints or further work you can.
Got back from Anthrocon last weekend. It was a blast! Made a lot of new and talented art friends and got a sizable commission queue. Here's the latest:

EDIT: D'aww, asymmetrical jellybean glass! Poor little guy.

Edit - didn't realize you were going from Prometheus hehe, nice.
Yes. This thread is a bit of an anomaly, but I normally start traditionally.
Here's an image of an Orc Shaman. If I'm lucky this'll help get me picked up for some D&D work:

I have before. I'm mostly digital, although I currently have an oil painting and three coloured pencil/mixed media images in the works.
Here's an image previewing my latest commission style. I can't take credit for the design, as it was done by Pac:

Thanks for that!

I doubt I would have missed your booth if you had one. Unless you were in one of the off the square areas.
