I did a couple comic doodles today. Like last time, written from discussions I had with my friends. I guess now's a good time to share them. Profanity, if that matters:
Both our scanners are shot, sadly. I don't mind scanning stuff in the future, though. The amount I draw, I should have bought a scanner ages ago. Any recommendations are appreciated.
Forgot to mention: I recorded a lecture and Q&A about the specifics of my weird and personal art career. I think you guys will really enjoy it. You can check it out here:
I have an old canoscan, haven't bought a scanner in years. Its worked since highschool, but it isn't at all good at grabbing color. Fine for what I use it for, I guess. I would look for one second hand, I think not a lot of people really use them anymore. Just be careful, I have another canoscan that cant work at all with windows 7/8 because its drivers were never updated for it.
I like the comics, a lot. Theres some other books listed in the Comic Resources Masterpost you could check out as well.
Understanding comics is my favorite, it gives you a lot of context for making certain choices in comics.
You gotta get a scanner though, for sure. I thought that you had a portable system for drawing (an ipad with a stylus, maybe?) since the comics are already kinda rough, making individual panels on a tablet probably wouldnt hinder you at all.
Not only have I been doing more comics, I'll be publishing them with a ton of notes, illustrated journal entries, and more on Gumroad! While it's against the rules to link here, feel free to follow me on Twitter for a ton of free previews and regular art updates, regardless.

My vis-com is getting slightly less constipated, but I sorely need to read Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics and Making Comics.

Halfway through Understanding Comics and loving it.
More shitty photos of a poorly drawn comic to celebrate:

Apologies in advance for the dark humour. All my comics are currently non-fiction:
