The worm doctor (indicated by the snazzy lab coat he's draped over his absurdly armless body) tells you that this species of desert worm likes to attach itself to a host, putting it into a deep sleep. This allows it to devour its preys delicious brainy matter undisturbed.
Fortunately for Tripp, Doctor Worm thinks they've found it in enough time that there will be no lasting damage to his delicious brains.
They are unclear as to how long it will take him to come around, but the conservative guess is a day or two.
Epicsplosion is made by a PA forumer, though he was mostly active 7 years ago or so. It's also fantastic.

I'm glad Tom is able to work on Gunnerkrigg Court full-time now. It was fairly obvious from his Twitter feed that he was really unhappy with his job and was doing it only to get by.
I plan on purchasing some merch from him to help support him soon.
