Fully agree. I might start a petition even. What I really want, and always have wanted, is for SimCity to be a portal to all other Sim games. Zoom into the office buildings and it loads SimTower, zoom into a garden of a house and there is SimAnt loading on your computer. Make this game Maxis/EA!!!! Do it! ....please

It would have to be more like SimRealestatetycoon; the "build it floor by floor as you can afford to" model just isn't realistic for a proper sim. I'd like to see you start off with some seed cash, a smallish plot, and blueprints for a block of flats or something then progress through buying better/more land, getting a loan, and building a tower you design via some sort of SketchUp-like interface, eventually leading to getting together enough cash to build an arcology….
If it has "Sim" in the name I immediately ignore it.

There hasn't been a new Sim City game for a decade... literally every Sim City game was released longer than seven years ago.
My PC before 2003 could barely run games, and the PC my family got in 2002-03 (I don't remember the exact year) could only run Call of Duty 2. Seriously. I have no clue why. It wouldn't even run COD1 lol Plus the first Simcity came out before I was even born, so theres that.
So, new beta starts today? Haven't gotten an invite, and it would seem that being in the last beta doesn't automatically put you into this one...hurray for 24hour betas!
You also are supposed to get in if you preordered, but still need a code instead of them just pushing it through Origin. Those emails have also not all gone out.
Though I understand they are staggering this because their servers are getting absolutely hammered, it would of course have been more sensible to let people who signed up/preordered get their keys first, and then start giving them out on twitter.
People are already receiving their emails now, I haven't gotten mine.
Nice that I got into the beta, but it ends in 34 hour and 12 of those hours are going to be downloading the game cuz the DSL here sucks. Maybe Ill let it run over night and get a few hours in tomorrow before it ends. If they have another beta weekend, do I have to re-download the whole thing or just patch it?
Got an hour play through in now. I enjoyed it, I didn't do the first beta so I don't have comparison. There were many things "unavailable" again, and of course just having an hour is frustrating. I'll have fun with this game, I'm convinced of that. Especially once we can play for longer and with all options open. I didn't think to up the graphics until about half way through which was a bummer, since it looks pretty nice maxed out at 2560x1600.
What's available doesn't seem to be different than beta 1. They did make some improvements though. The road grid is easier to place. It's also easier to see how big zoned buildings will be when you place zones.

I played through the tutorial but it won't let me play the free bit, says it was unable to creat the city, any ideas on how to fix this? restarted it like 6 times.
Hooray, I got a key this time too. I finally started watching the intro gameplay videos and I'm extremely hyped now. I was worried about the city sizes, but my hope that the attention to detail will make up for it seems to be very legitimate from watching the dev videos. Download fasterrrrr plz.
