3DS power pack and HDMI splitter

Two unrelated questions.

People have recommended a third party power pack thingie for the 3DS. I think it is this:

http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Charge-Base-3DS-Nintendo/dp/B004SJFJUA/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1331217199&sr=1-1

Can anyone confirm?

Also, I have a setup right now where I am using my 24" monitor with both my PC and my PS3. Due to funky issues with my monitor and overscan, the only way I get a completely proper display is by using a DVI-to-HDMI cable. The HDMI input on my monitor causes overscan on my PS3 and it is not possible to turn that off so I am stuck with the DVI input.

The net result is that I have to constantly unplug the HDMI from either the PC and plug it into the PS3 or vice versa, when I want to use one or the other.

I see some relatively inexpensive HDMI splitters on Amazon. Any recommendations? Anything I need to be wary of?

Hey man. No idea on the 3DS, and I'm not sure this is what you need buuuuuuuut...

I bought this HDMI switch from Amazon. It was cheap, faulty garbage and I sent it back.

Then I bought this one. It's great so far. The auto-switching is pretty cool, but it sometimes switches to my PC when I don't want it to. Also the LEDs are waaaaay bright.

There are two 3ds power packs I've seen recommended - the one you linked to and a newer one that just clips onto the system somehow. I have the one you linked and love it. It adds a little size to the system, not terrible though - and still looks decent. The charger is nice as well - although I'll admit the LEDs on the thing are crazy bright if you keep the system near where you sleep. Having 2x the battery is great though - I bought it almost immediately after buying my system and haven't had any reason to remove it.

I think I got mine at Best Buy if you want a B&M store and not have to wait for shipping.
