Can't really blame them. Look at Violet -- he had one of the worst records in the GSL, and now he's won an IEM, MLG Europe qualifier, and lots of little tournaments.

It's times like this when you wonder how the fuck foreigners do so badly in the GSL when it also contains Inca.

Because foreigners are worse than him?
Say what you like about his unconventional play, but when Nani is 0-10 in maps and Inca has been hovering in low Code S/high Code A for more than a year, maybe it's because he's not as shit as people think?
EDIT: he dropped out of Code A once last year, actually. But the next season he went through up and downs and made it into Code S. So my point still stands.

If high Code A is shit, then the only good players in the world are Code S players? Sorry, everyone else. I guess you're shit.
EDIT: I don't mean to be combative like this, but it really bothers me when people rag on pros who are 10 times the player they are. Show them some respect. Inca has been around since fucking open season 1. I personally despise his semi-cheesy, gimmicky style, but that doesn't mean he's anything other than a fucking good player that has his own unique style.
Some people have better results than their skill warrants. Bitbybit made it into the third round of a GSL. Virus has been in the GSL for forever and even made it somewhat deep into some Code S seasons, and I'd say he's shit, too. There are a lot of Code A players who are better than Inca.

that's why consistency counts
bitbybit is long gone, inca is in code at the least pretty consistently

Of course he's way better than me. He's in the top 0.x% of players in the world. But I'm not talking in context of all of the ladder players out there, nor even all of the foreign semipros. I would be a moron if I was. His PvZ gives me horrible flashbacks of the level of play in the open seasons, however, and I'd like to think the GSL has moved way past that era.

Bitbybit also dropped off after one season. Inca has been in Code A/Code S for more than a year. If he didn't deserve to be there, he would have dropped out long ago. Same thing with Virus.
If there were better Code A players, they would have advanced instead of Inca/Virus. Being able to win when it counts is what matters, not some nebulous "skill". Puma is a great player, yet he hasn't been able to make it through the preliminaries. Same thing with Hero, until this season. Look at all the amazing players stuck out in Code B. Inca advances over them every time because he can win. That's all he needs to not be "shit".
Clearly, GSL hasn't. Or he wouldn't be winning. How can he be shit if he's consistently winning? It's not a fluke if he's been in S or A since the creation of the system (other than one season, after which he went straight back to S).
I'm just gonna have to assume we're using different definitions of skill, then. I'm using a qualitative view of his skill - I think he has bad macro and micro and makes a lot of mistakes. You're saying that he's good because his results are good, which is a valid point of view. If I said he's good but he has bad macro and micro and makes a lot of mistakes, is that adequate? Or am I not allowed to criticise his play at all?

You can criticize all you want. But that doesn't make him shit. He does gimmicky bullshit half his games, but if he wins, doesn't that make his opponents worse? He has bad macro, bad micro, and wins off of stupid cheese when he does win. He's still a good player, because he still wins.
Also, calling someone shit isn't exactly a criticism. But we'll roll with it.
Different definitions of skill, then. I don't personally think that you're a good player just because your opponents play badly against you, but ok.
if you consistently think someone is terrible while they consistently win for like a year at the top level tournament in the world, maybe you have a bias

If we're talking about his PvZ then he doesn't consistently win at all. In fact he almost consistently loses.

@marty_0001 and anyone else who wants to benefit from this
i took the liberty of running through four builds and saving the replays for educational use.
PvP - 4gate
This is just a completely standard 4gate with no frills.
PvZ - Forge FE + Stargate
This is the safest Forge FE opening. The followup, the stargate, is largely a matter of preference - some people prefer to open with heavy zealot pressure. I like the stargate because its lower risk and gets you a bit more used to countering. The timings on all buildings up until I lay the robotics facility are all fairly important - particularly the gas timing. Lay the gas when your gateway is 50% done, or you won't be able to get the stargate and sentries too. I ended up playing this game out to completion - you can sort of stop paying attention by the end.
PvT
Two builds here!
First - a 2gate robo expand.
This is a really safe build against any Terran build that gets gas when you scout them. You'll have a nice fast observer to enable you to cancel your Nexus if you scout some sort of all-in, and having that fast observer also means that you'll get a lot of practise in identifying what a Terran is doing, because you'll see it all and be able to learn similarities between builds.
Secondly - a 1gate FE build.
The particular build I did here is a little bit outdated, but I think its the best for a new player to learn. The other variants tend to sacrifice more earlier units in favour of a quicker nexus, which can be a death sentence if you aren't comfortable with your micro. This variation gets a lot more units out more quickly and sacrifices some chrono on probes and gets a slower Nexus to do so. You can adjust the timings on it with experience.

In the recent past I've gone 20 game spans without playing any Terrans on ladder.
they're just afraid to go on these days now that all their bullshit strategies have been nerfed.
good to know that there are no more bs terran strats though
LETS GO
