I'm not going to be including stuff not within easy walking distance of PAX this year. Perhaps next year!
Does that walking distance rule out Sushiland @ 803 5th Ave N, Seattle WA 98109 then? That almost seems like the full extent that anyone would want to walk. It seems about the walking distance of the Hyatt to Extended Stay or Doubletree last year. I love the conveyor belt.
Also, a small video game store with some classic and Japanese imports and a Toy model store right by it. They are all in the same building. Yea, a lot of imports there.
awesome candy store across the street from there, too. and pink godzilla is there, as well.
Really? Oh awesome, I'll have to swing by next time I'm in the area, they had a cool booth at 06.
Looks like I'm not the only here who likes this place
yeah, that shop is major pwnage. some truly incredible finds there. my only complaint is the prices, they are a bit steep. although, getting my pink ds there months before anyone else here could was awesome! and i got a nifty NES Advantage controller for $5 at the show last year.

Those who have not been should know that Pink Godzilla's store is about the same size as one of their booths, but is stuffed with so many games and such that the celing is covered with them. It's really quite awesome.
The donuts at the Pike Place market are very good.
Seconded! I think they're considerably better than Top Pot.
Also: Downtown Happy Hour Guide
It may not be entirely up to date, but you can always call ahead to confirm.
You're welcome!
Also also: need a cab? Call Crown Black Car
This is a relatively new business that my friends and I will all vouch for. You call them up just like a taxi, but you get a black Lincoln town car, driver playing metal on the stereo, flat rate instead of meter, cheaper than a taxi, and they take credit cards as well as cash.
Is that downtown liquor store open on Sundays? There's one with Sunday hours (12pm-5pm) at 12th Ave E and E Pine St on Capitol Hill. They're also open until 8 or 9 pm during the week.
how about some vegetarian/vegan friendly restaurants?
cyber dogs is a very good all vegetarian (with the option of making everything vegan) hot dog place/internet cafe. delicious food, and wifi (for a fee, which i don't remember now).
i have a list of vegetarian places somewhere, i'll post em when i can find it.

If you are in the area of the Space Needle anyway, it's a great vegetarian restaurant with some really good vegan stuff, too.
Google Earth has become a hobby of mine, actually. The BC Ministry of Forests just had a survey done of a massive chunk of forest near here (just north of Mt. Baker), and I get to plot out all sorts of summer adventuring with it. There's so much forest out there, it's awesome. A buddy and I found a cabin up on one of our mountain adventures last year.

Really? It's less than two miles from the convention center? I thought it was farther than that.

It's just Google Maps as a downloadable application, except with higher detail and full 3D and stuff. It's free, go get it, dammit!

Or at the very least a Denny's?
I prefer my food to be American with extra grease and salt for good measure.
Edit:
Ihop is less than a mile away, near the corner of broadway and madison.
