Seeing that we didn't have one of these up, I thought I'd correct this injustice and give us a place to yak about anything related to Batman.
For almost 70 years, the man who dressed up like a bat has been gracing not just multiple forms of paper publications, but showing up on television and movies as well in both live-action and animation. Surviving wannabes and imitators, the near death of comic-books, changes in his auidiance and even his own mood swings, there's no doubt that the Batman has become an unremovable and irreplaceable part of our culture.

Anyone have a "man on the inside" hollywoodwise?

Yeah, yeah, I know the OP's pretty crappy. It's a bad mix to be both half-asleep and inspired at the same time to create a thread. Said insperation came from me remembering one of the first modern Batman storylines I ever read, KnightsEnd. Basically the part where Lady Shiva kills this (armless I believe) martial-arts master dressed up as a ninja with a bat-mask. Then she hands the suit and mask over to Bruce, not letting him know exactly how she set up the 'tests' to see if he's still has what it takes to be Batman. Dunno why that part of the story stuck to me but it did. Anyone remember that part of the story?
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
I like pictures. Especially ones with color.
So... yeah.
Ow. Sorry. >.<; Kinda hard to distinguish sarcasm here sometimes. That and I always tend to expect burns rather then compliments to topics I start.
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
Yeah, that bit was awesome. It was a whole lot more entertaining than the Bruce Wayne bits that came before. Knightfall overall was mostly great. Shame about the 'Batman is a dick' explanation of why Dick Grayson couldn't take over, though.
Since is the Bat-Thread - can somebody tell me that Batman's going back to a normal format? I love Grant Morrison, but there's a reason I buy comics and not novels.
It was just for one issue.

Everyone who likes comics should read JSA: Liberty Files.
I myself did not care for Liberty Files, or it's sequel. It seemed to me the Elseworld was created more for sake of the setting than it was to tell a story of any quality. A lot of the changes seemed completely arbitrary, too; why is Scarecrow immortal? Why is Two-Face half bug-monster? It really didn't seem like there was any logic governing it.
Wait, so when they say "Aaron Eckhart ... Harvey Dent/Two-Face (rumored)"
...do they mean it's rumored that he'll be playing Harvey Dent, or it's rumored that he'll become Two-Face in the movie?
It seems like a bit of overkill to put both the Joker and Two-Face in the same movie.
Also:
"Maggie Gyllenhaal ... Rachel Dawes (rumored)"
I hope to fuck this is true. I don't know anything about Maggie Gyllenhaal, but I can't really imagine she's a worse actress than Katie Holmes.
Batman on Film
Fantastic site that digs up all the facts and rumours about the upcoming Batman films. Some of the cast and crew involved in Begins and TDK have been known to read and enjoy this site.
EDIT: I vote there should probably be a link to this site in the OP, as well as maybe the IMDB/wiki entries. Not to suggest this become a movie-oriented thread, but it is pertinent.

Anyway, I'm sure this is asked all the time, but where the hell does Batman find all the time to do the ass kicking he does? Is there some kind of official timeline to explain how he's in all the books he's in every month?
Fuck, I realize Bats is a big seller, but DC should at least be sensible. He can't possibly have time to do all the shit he does, much less heal from all the damage he takes. He'd need a time turner or something to be able to be all around like that.
Marvel does the same thing with Spider-Man/X-Men
Plus, the only bat-books in the current timeline are DC and Batman.
I think.
Stop it
Origin is the exact same as my Steam, in case you're needing a Support or Assault in BF3.
Hush is good. Heavier on the asskicking as opposed to the detective work, but good nontheless. People like to hate on it, but then, people like to hate on everything.
Grant Morrison's recent arc? Also awesome stuff.
Why? Its the truth
That's great. Id venture to guess that nearly everyone posting in this thread likes Batman. I for example pick up the Detective Comics and Batman issues each month and im probably gonna grab a trade or two here soon.
But what you don't see anyone else doing is spouting off inane shit like "I like Batman" "Batman?" or whatever else you come up with that adds absolutely nothing to the thread.
PARKER, YOU'RE FIRED! <-- My comic book podcast! Satan look here!
He spent most of his time at Ninja school. They have degrees too, but they lurk in the shadows.
All Star is Frank Miller's continuity that ends up with DKR and DKSA. I'm pretty sure that the official line is that DKR is Elseworlds, and thus, All Star = Elseworlds.
How often is Batman in JLA? Every issue? I think the main continuity titles that Batman is in regularly are Batman, Detective Comics, Robin, Superman/Batman, and JLA. He's been in a Green Lantern arc recently (or maybe just a single issue).
All the Detective Comics stories take place over the course of a few days, and I don't see how they would necessarily conflict with other events. The regular Batman stories usually take place over longer periods, but there's generally no reason why Batman might not take a break for a few days to run off to Metropolis or something in between significant developments in the Batman stories.
I haven't seen anything where Batman was taken out of general action for a long period of time, thus making it hard to figure out how he could be in one place in one book while seemingly he was on, say, Apokalips in other book. Nor have I seen recently a story where he was hot on a trail to the exclusion of everything else.
As an aside from the continuity issue: is anyone besides me dying for an Azrael comeback? I want to see that crazy, red, gold and hooded motherfucker sticking his burning knives through bad guys again.
