Why not just give Batman the Daredevil treatment? Snug black leather with a seperate headpiece and some sturdy boots. I've always thought that moulded plastic muscles look kind of ridiculous. Though I do like the new Batsuit more than the others, they've all got that same armored look that makes him look like his movement would be too impaired to really function effectively.

I guess it is a matter of opinion, but I think that looks ridiculous, and not at all intimidating or scary.

None of them look intimidating in stills

however, he can actually move in that suit so it can be scarier than the others

Yeah, I wish we could have a cloth costume that did not look retarded, but I do not think it is possible in real life. Spider-man's costume is supposed to be cloth, but it is definitely not... They just won't work on the big screen, or probably not even in live-action.

It's very possible in real life, as already posted awhile back in the movie thread..

Well, that's an awesome rendition of the comic costume, but I agree with those that say it doesn't look suitably scary. It's just Adam West without the beer gut.

When I think of how to make a practical Batman costume that still pays homage to the comic without being armored, I think more along the lines of martial arts costumes and the kinds of outfits in which ninja are often depicted. Think Stormshadow, but in gray wool with a black Bat-Emblem and a cape. The gauntlets could work like the ones from Batman Begins.

If I had the inclination (and the talent) I'd try to put my idea into a drawing. Maybe I can find a picture that resembles my thoughts.

And a darker color palette, a more menacing looking cowl, and without a garishly costumed sidekick.

    Yeah, pretty close though.

Don't get me wrong, I like that picture. I believe it's from that fan film that had Batman fighting a Predator, and that actor did a pretty good Batman. The cowl is really great, and the suit looks cool in that lighting. That guy has the muscles to pull it off, but it's still a skintight suit. In bright light, he'd look like a tool.

So, I watched Batman: Dead End again for shits and giggles. I'm wondering though, are there any comics where Bats fights aliens and/or predators?

There's a piece of fan fiction out there somewhere that has Batman getting raped by a Predator. But then, I'm sure Batman rapes him back at some point.

This is what happens when interstellar diplomacy breaks down.

I remember picking up a superman/aliens book waaaaay back just to glimpse at it. I read a page, and it had superman just recently being sprayed with acid and a chick going "that should've eaten half way through your skull by now..." and superman just shrugged it off with a non-chalant comment.

I have a neighbour who's into that kinda thing . . . but back on topic yes Scarecrow returns. It's nice to have villians return at last considering the only villian who survived the first three batman films (no one, not even the audeince survived the fourth) was The Riddler.

Yay for letting villains come back and (god forbid) maybe develop a bit. Honestly, Spider-man 3, would it have killed you to let Venom escape to drool another day? You were already planning SM4 anyway for fuck's sake.

I hate the fact that villians who could be AWESOME are made into something amazingly shitty. I.E. Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, The Riddler, and Joker. The only villian in Batman that didn't suck was Scarecrow, and that's still debatable.

You really have to view Batman Begins as separate from the prior films.

And nobody ever mentions Falcone among the list of Batman villains to appear on screen. I guess that's because it was more of a nod to the comics than an actual rendition of the character.

To be fair, Catwoman the movie pretty much murdered any possibility of seeing Catwoman in a Batman film even before Begins came out.

I'm just watching the first Batman movie again and I realised that Batman is not the hero in this, he's the villain. You've got The Joker who first kills off all the crime bosses, then throws a party for everyone in Gotham and gives them all money. Then Batman shows up, destroys the parade and starts gunning people down left a right. I'll never look at Batman the same way.

A movie can still be entertaining regardless of whether it's 100% faithful or not.

Batman / Returns proved it (for me)

Batman and Robin didnt (for everyone)
