I don't really understand twitter... is there some name I'm supposed to "follow"
I typed #slashdance and nothing came up....
Anything with "#" in front of it is a hashtag. You do a search on a hashtag to find tweets that are using it in common to talk about a subject. As Exodus1 said, you can search during pax for the #slashdance hashtag to see if anyone has posted with that hashtag. Some twitter apps for smartphones allow you to set up regular checking of hashtag searches on some interval.
Man, I hope that I get to join in at some point! I just have a panel/meetup/night of awesomeness during the concert time, so I hope we can join in earlier than that.
As for dance styles, personally, I know how to do all ten of the International syllabus ballroom dances (waltz, viennese waltz, foxtrot, quickstep, tango, cha cha cha, samba, rhumba, jive, and paso doble), but I also know how to do some basic West Coast and East Coast Swing, mambo/salsa, merengue, hustle, and polka.
Hey Folks! We had a pretty good turn out for #slashdance and while we had a little bit of a slow start, by the time we managed to get to the location I was at last year, there was plenty of loosened feet to be had.
I received a lot of great feedback from attendees regarding the show, and I'm so happy to have been able to do #slashdance for you guys. I look forward to doing it next year!
I also received a lot of feedback and support from show organizers as well, and it's possible that next year I'll be able to turn up the awesome notch a bit.
Thanks for coming to PAX East 2012! Hope to see y'all at PAX Prime 2012 or at the latest, PAX East 2013 (assuming we survive the end of 2012 and the Mayan apocalypse).
