Aaron is pitching Amazing X-Men as the flipside of WatXM. It is what the JGS teachers are doing when they aren't teaching, it lets them be superheroes again. He also said that while the initial arc has a small team, the cast can include anyone who is a teacher at the school.

Both of those things are wonderful.
It'd be neat if he used this opportunity to focus a little more on the kids in WatXM, I feel like they get shortchanged sometimes in favor of the teachers.
(not that I don't like Quire but I'm seriously tired of the book being The Quentin And Idie Show Also Starring Shark-Girl and Eye-Boy and fifty background characters who'll never get more than a line of dialogue ever again)

Now that's going to be cool. I'm gonna have to wait though, I prefer getting trades over single issues. (If I miss an issue and can't find it I go insane, and don't get new ones until I find the one I missed, which leads to missing even more issues... and so on)
Man I can hardly blame Aaron for taking a cast of 5 or so students and focusing on them
He already had to juggle Wolverine, Kitty, Iceman, Warbird and Beast on top of that
I'd much rather have a fun, entertaining book with a small, focused cast versus one that tries to handle too many characters even if it means I miss out on regular Rockslide/Anole appearances
When Dazzler said "You think I'm coming with you?" he really should have said "If you want the whole story so you can make your own decision, yes." This feels to me like the first time in Uncanny where Scott hasn't been the reasonable one first, and it disappoints me.
What also bugs me about this issue is that it felt like this was the first time Alison and Scott interacted since AvX, but they actually spoke back in X-Treme 7.1. And they were on pretty good terms then. Oh well.
Also, kind if getting tired of seeing last page reveal person everywhere. She's becoming the Wolverine of X-Villains. I'm sure it ties in with her appearance in ANXM or something but seriously it seems like she's popping up everywhere lately.

That's because she has this large scale evil plan she is working on, and thus is maneuvering in all of the books to make this large scale plan happen. She's basically an evil mastermind at the moment.

Uncanny #9 was actually a good issue outside of that rather lazy "fartface/nu-uh poop breath" talk between Alison and Scott. It almost felt like Bendis didn't have anything to really create a conflict between the two, since he already knows Scott knows he's rogue, so he does a cheap name call. And it was just lazy, just throw in a nazi reference too to win the bingo.
I mean the bigger news in the issue is the Stepford Cuckoos will never be the same!

I could see how the language could bother some people. There're two modes of speech, which are jokey/snarky and matter-of-factly. When everyone is in the latter mode especially, there is a rhythm to the speech (telltale sign is the complete lack of contractions) that makes everyone sound like they are speaking in one voice and it can be distracting once you notice it. I do not know if it is a writing tic that Bendis has in general as I have not read much of his work outside of the X-books and the current GotG run, but I have noticed it especially in ANXM and UXM. GotG not so much.
Sorry to ruin it for anyone that hadn't already noticed.
Oh man. Why is ANXM so damn good? Because damn has it been really good.
I'm not totally sold on Wood's X-Men yet though. It's not bad and I like the cast, but it's very by-the-books so far and not doing anything special, at least yet. That and, it seems to be totally handwaving and forgetting Jubilee is a vampire when she's had some of her best character development to this point as one. This slightly upsets me.

with Quentin Quire as Harry
It's kind of annoying that Aaron's characters constantly get the spotlight over all the other students
Why even bring the Utopia kids over if you're going to do fuck all with them
he's a great character to read, he'd be insufferable to actually deal with
(specifically poochy)

yeah but Jason Aaron made him actually interesting to read about

So they're background filler. Great.
I just want them to be used.

It was real good is what you mean
certainly in the main Marvel Universe, maybe even better than USM depending on taste
the guy is killing it
His writing style fits them so much better than the Avengers it is ridiculous
Let's not get ahead of ourselves
I would not say it's better than Daredevil or Alias yet
or Powers
maybe better than Daredevil
because I've been having a really hard time staying interested in Bendis' X-Books but everyone else seems to love them
Do you need help getting into it??
