Go here. Apply the patch, if it asks you to insert the Windows XP CD to replace changed files, don't let it. Then go somewhere like here, download a theme, put the files in a sensible place, and double click the .msstyles file. If you happen to have XP SP3 and not SP2, then download the patcher here instead.

I don't run that shit, so I've had to dig up a guide. It seems mildly more complicated. Still, once you've done all that, you can get themes in a similar manner.

That really cool, how did ya do it?
Fucking photobucket, it never displays in the size I want.
I then assigned the new icon images, and moved them to their desired spots using the background as a guide to line them up perfectly. The final step was to make some minor adjustments such as font size, and getting rid of the shortcut arrows, and viola.
All in all, it was a pretty tedious operation. It has been my desktop since October and will be until I finish Twilight Princess.
Default vista with shortcut markers taken away from the icons.
I just think not having to scroll left and right to view and image at all is a good thing. It was only a general request though. I'm not going to start complaining if people start breaking the H-Scroll.
Also, what is with those randomly placed icons?! I wouldn't be able to stand my PC like that.
Vbulletin resizes the image itself, so its not possible to break h-scroll.

I was under the impression that it still stretched individual posts that had large images in them so that only that one post went past the H-Scroll. I didn't know they'd changed it to resize large images.

Been this way for months. Sometimes, I change the image, but it has been Iron Fist since around Thanksgiving I think. Theme is hacked v3.

Placing them in a unique structure makes each icon easier to find. When they're just in a big grid it's harder to group and hard to mentally associate a particular shortcut with a location on the screen.
