Just cleaned up like 100 icons off my desktop last night and it was kind of... barren with all black so I found this:

Just thought I'd let you all know that starting today you can get RSS feeds from all gallery categories on the PA Wallpaper Dump. The feeds includes the thumbnails linking directly to the last 25 images, so you don't even have to visit the site itself to keep youself up to date. This should hopefully make it easier keeping up with the latest goodies being posted there :)

Here are the direct link to the "all categories" feed in case you don't want to go find it yourself:

RSS feed of the last 25 images from all categories

If you just want feeds from the individual categories, your can find them on the site.

Okay I keep looking for it, and I think you have mentioned it before, but I can't find it. What is the dock you are using? I am using rocketdock right now but it is not nearly as pretty as that. So much want.

It's not a matter of what dock you're using. They're all about the same, plus or minus some features. He gets his docks looking nice simply by correlating the icons with the background.

ah, cool. That sounds about right. I think I will look into creating some icons like that myself. Thanks.

Kind of off topic, but relating to Desktop look/synergy with foobar:

I was given a large archive of music recently, and it is a complete mess. I have foobar finally setup the way I want it, but alot of this new music dosent have albulm art, or is in wacky folder schemes for no reason. Is there a way to do a mass (I mean dozens of gigs) cleanup/renaming/refoldering/albulm art gathering? The googles lead me in some directions that were horrible and did not work.
Is it tagged? If it is then things like iTunes have the option to "organize your music for you" which means they do a mass reorganization of everything into folders based on tag name when you import 'em. If its not tagged at all, I've used MusicBrainz before to analyze and tag/rename/move stuff before. I have a feeling theres probably something better out there for this situation, but Musicbrainz works great when you're not sure what something is.

    + Archlinux.
    + Openbox.

    - Custom ClearLooks-flat theme.
    - Custom irssi theme.

Installed it to see if TF2 works in Linux. And it does. I'm fucking staying, baby. No more "just laptop" for me. Now it's on the desktop.

Why do you need an excuse to chat with people from around the globe? Hell, there's a bunch of us hanging out in a penny-arcade channel over at slashnet.

And my theme looks better when it is not just quits and joins, and people do actual chatting. :D
But since it's 03:50 in the morning, I guess conversation isn't at it's peak.

There's a Windows release of irssi, but unfortunately last time I tried it you couldn't use the mouse to interact with the text in the chat window (Meaning: No links for you, or copy-pasting).

    It's here: http://www.nordichardware.com/filearchive/fil,162.html

When I'm chatting on my Linux laptop I use irssi, but on my Windows machine I use mIRC, modified to give a similar look:

    mircmm6.jpg

I can let you know how to do that, if the small grey box look is all you're going for, but unfortunately the Windows irssi options are a little limited.

Yes, as long as the water doesn't fall directly on the moss it will grow. And looking at the picture, the water isn't falling on the moss.

ok I really wanna get into changing my desktop. I just have a decent wallpaper and that's it. I really want like the hotlinks in icon form. Like the user who posted the companion cube thing. Where there's no icons, a calender and that kind of stuff. not necessarily that exact format or wallpaper, but what I wanna know is:

if I were to do a complete change over like that, what am I looking for? things like putting a calender on the desktop and getting icon links/ text links centered on the bottom or top. I'm just really clueless as to how to start doing all of that and would love some info.

I guess first thing first is, what are the different things called and what do I do to get them all working?

I really did not do too much to it. I mean I used the UX theme patcher people linked to earlier. The thing with the icons on the bottom is Rocket Dock and the calendar is rainlendar. They are really easy to install and use. I did download another program called ActiveIcons to change the icons for the dock, but you don't even need to do that. Just download some pictures or whatever and replace the icons with that. It is actually all pretty self-explanatory once you visit the websites.

    waaagh. question.

so i'm in os x. these icons work just fine if I want to switch around my default drive icons for them. however, when I use the icons andorien gave me, or some others from deviant art, the transparency reverts from awesome transparency to solid black or white. this happens with .icos or .pngs. why?
