Not sure if it was mentioned here, but Blue confirmed Brewfest was going to be pushed back one week.
So instead of being Sept 20 - Oct 5 it (if I'm reading my calendar right) should be Sept 27 - Oct 12
That should be a bit more reasonable to get a character (or two) up to do the boss.
This is one holiday I hope they don't add anything new for this year (aside from making it level 90). the drunk effect in-game gives me migraines and I don't enjoy the ram racing (particularly the Horde variant which rewards significantly less tokens than Alliance). I'd be happy to just skip it and get a few characters to at least 89 to get a few trinkets with. Just have to decide who will need it the most.
I only need a couple of things for Brewfest, none of which is the boss. Just need to get the mount or use the item on mine, and join the club. So even without the pushback of a week I was fine I think.
If it wasn't for the trinkets, I'd say I could safely ignore brewfest.
On a side note, went on an achievement spree over the weekend. Got my Chef title, and did as many of the non-luck based fishing ones as possible (right now I'm stuck on just winter squid for the Oceanographer achievement).
Tried to put a dent in my AV wins required too...that was painful.

I'm thinking the trinkets will be super nice. I mean, level 90 epics two days into the expansion? Going to be hard to pass that up :P
Still I wish they would add a feature where you can buy 4 more slots for an account because I am debating if I want to move my death knight over from realm and which account I will make my panderian rogue on
Wow, I just realized that I spent so much of this expansion being unsubscribed/not playing that I never actually did all the level 85 heroics (when I came back, the End Time heroics were in, so I've run them a bunch of times, and I've done ZA and maybe 2-3 of the original 85 heroics, but most of them I've never set foot in).
I guess I need to get on that before MoP comes out. Would the best way be to just do a quick read of boss abilities on Wowpedia and then queue for a specific dungeon, or at this point can I just go ahead and queue and then spend my time in queue looking at the Dungeon Journal and know enough to wing it? My guild is essentially dead at this point, so I'd be pugging it.
Like I said I took the week off of work for Mists to level my warlock and rogue to at least 89 before I have to go back
But at least it's not like dealing with Xmas in retail and how aweful cata was when it rolled out
Are they going to do the pre stuff with the new talents before mists launch? if it's the begining of Sept I would have to do a few things on both accounts

Wow Insider did a budget walkthrough for each boss when the patch dropped, I'll see if I can find it.

I can't wait until the add the ability to add Battle Tags in WoW. Gonna play with so many other people from different servers! Yeah!
It's the old 4.0 ones I've (mostly) never run. When I came back, 4.3 was in effect and you got much better gear and more points, so I just ran them.
I was just planning on running all the 4.0 ones for the achievement sometime in the next week or so and wasn't sure how much effort I needed to put into ensuring I didn't die.
General rule of thumb is you shouldn't expect to PuG most of the achievements, getting them to even kill the bosses in the 4.0 heroics should be considered a victory since the vast majority of people still running them at this point are those who can't queue for the HoT heroics.
IMO, try to get a group together on your server for the achievement runs, you'll have a lot less frustration.

I dunno, you might want to look up the fights in BRC before you go there. Namely Corla, who still wipes groups with too high of a dipshit ratio regularly. As DPS you can probably wing the rest of the 4.0 heroics anymore if you can pay attention and move out of obvious hazards. Maybe SFK as well for the alchemist boss since the move/stop thing can kill you very quickly if you don't know how it works.
The last day or two I have had real trouble with seemingly random disconnects, where the game abruptly stops - no lag, no running in place, just playing normal and then bam - You have been disconnected from the server screen, where I can immediately log back in (and usuually kicks me right back out after loading up).
After this happens I have checked on other online services (SkyDrive, Zune, internet, email, netflix, etc and everything runs normally).
My wife continues to play normally on the same connection.
If I delete the Cache folder I can resume gaming normally for a night or maybe 10 minutes.

well, yeah, I guess that's my question; I would assume the brewfest stuff would already be in the PTR files so we should know by now if he's getting upgraded trinkets or not.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if he still had the 85 ones...I can't imagine they're gonna want people to have that ready access to good trinkets off the bat at 90.

5.0 will be going live in late August, so they don't NEED to have the Brewfest files in there if they don't feel the event is ready.
Literally, the hardest part is creating the new items, which has already done. All they need to do is change a few variables for the new level cap (assuming the code is properly ordered and documented).

True, but it's a few Ilvls above the 90 heroic dungeon gear.
Not bad, but not a make or break thing if you don't get them. They're not the greatest trinkets to begin with as they have no core stats (except sta which...whatever).
Though the tank dodge one is good. Maybe the healing one? I have no idea, haven't healed since vanilla.

Indeed. Considering you'll likely be snagging them without having had time to set foot in any of the heroic dungeons by that point, I'd be surprised if they weren't a pretty clear upgrade from whatever leveling greens/blues you may have picked up beforehand. But yes, I'd expect that the raiding epics would surpass them in quality quite quickly. At least I would hope so.

It works fine on my laptop so maybe it's just my desktop, dunno. I gave up and am reinstalling from scratch on it. A side benefit is that it should regain me a TON of space, I haven't reinstalled from scratch in years. I just copied the entire folder from computer to computer.

Hallow's End starts on the 18th, so if they just start Brewfest on the 2nd then there will be no days of overlap.
The blue said "just over a week" and "stopping short of overlapping with Hallow’s End" so we still don't have a definite starting time, but we know it'll be somewhere in the area between the 27th and the 2nd due to those hints.
Which is the battletag now the one I was forced to get because of Diablo or the email I use?
yeah it was kind of a burn out to have the elder/chinese newyear overlap with valentines but then in general most of the holidays they had were kind of disapointing

*shrug* Blizzard is kind of lazy though, I think changing quality is more work than just bumping up the stats to an arbitrary ilvl.
Of course, knowing Blizzard's track record, watch him be level 90 but drop level 85 trinkets :P
