I think I've been clearing DS with the current group I've been with since the debuff was -15%, so I already know we can do it on that and have better gear now on top of that. That normals are nearly faceroll easy now with -30% doesn't mean much, and I'm sure we could roll DS normals with the debuff off completely.
Heroics are definitely trickier... we've got Morchok, the slime boss whose name I never remember, and Ultraxion down pat at this point. Warlord and Hagara both seem fucking insane mechanics-wise and we haven't tried any of the others on heroic yet. We do have a few weaknesses in our raiding group, mainly on the DPS front. Our consistent spread of DPS on virtually every fight is me at the top around 36-40k, our rogue with Legendary daggers right behind me and then a steady drop until our final DPS spot is somewhere just above 20k or so. On fights that favor melee, the Rogue will overtake me, but the rest will typically be the same. And I'm not sure that's sufficient to be able to do the harder heroics. I feel like our tanks and healers are pretty solid however, so I don't think they're a problem at all. Honestly though, I'm not that worried about the heroic progression, it's so late in the expansion it doesn't matter that much anyway.
I am a little curious if we'll be able to take this raiding group into MoP raiding or not... we're not all in the same guild or anything, but most of them are and when their guild actually picks back up in activity with the new expansion, we extras will probably be out of luck. But again, whatever.

I've had a few people say that all content should be available (including heroic raid modes). Also I'm perfectly fine with nerfs to dungeons/raids. I'm not sure where you're getting this idea that I don't want people to see stuff?
Note: the LFR versions of raids don't come out till a week after the raid is out. Also, there will be no raids open when MoP hits, the schedule will look like this:
Launch: Nothing
Week 2: Vaults Normal
Week 3: Vaults LFR as well as Heroic if you beat it on normal the previous week
Week 6: Heart of Fear and Terrace of Endless Spring Normal
Week 7: Heart of Fear and Terrace of Endless Spring LFR as well as Heroic if you beat them on normal the previous week

I find that being together with the same people for a long time goes a long way in raiding.
Yeah... I mean, they've sort of hinted that we should join their guild, but I don't know that we really want to do that. Regardless, this has been pretty fun, since I haven't raided regularly since TBC.

Blizzard, I think I love you right now.
Oddly enough, I think this was partially done in a nod to bleeding edge raiders.
The opening tier of Cata was highly criticized due to being a race without any breaks whatsoever. It wasn't like Wrath where you could ease off a bit when hitting the current gate.

Oh definitely. This tier has 16 bosses split across 3 raids. If I'm not mistaken, this is the largest number of bosses in a raiding tier ever? At least in recent times, anyway. The decision to have Mogu'shan only available at first should help a lot as well. It should end up being a bit more linear of a race, in a way.
So my first and only alt to hit 85 (very recently at that) I finally decided to gear up a bit, and so a few days later and I go into my first LFRs. First half uneventfull (dull even), second half I zone in on spine and... apparently the LFR strategy is very different from what I'm used to on Heroic spine. Yup, I got kicked for DPSing the big tentacles and spawning 2 extra amalgamation that ate the tank.
It's been a long time since I did LFR but iirc the LFR spine strategy is to kill corruptions only when you want another amalgamation. I don't think they even do the searing plasma thing.
you kill just one corruption each platform/"phase"/whatever to call it, they don't do the grip so there is no need to kill more and roll to get rid of the extra ones
on the negative side the blood thingys spawn slow as fuck at the beginning ^^
My guild walks all over Heroic Spine now. We can get the first plate off in a single exposure, and only take on fiery grip once before exposing each time. Only having two healers helps. We can also 1-heal Warmaster. I'm beginning to suspect our priest is some sort of healing robot.
Been getting that itch to raid again with the looming release of MoP and the information I've seen about the first raiding tier.
Lots of good decisions there. /applaud

One thing that seems to have been completely dropped from their 'To Do' list, at least based on their lack of addressing it, is the Tabards tab/storage system. I'm a bit disappointed about that; I've got a bag and a half worth of the things and I really don't care for the 'sell 'em to a vendor and buy them back later' method, but I suppose that's our only option at this point.

There's not really any reason for them to NOT make tabards earned a pull down menu type thing like titles.
The only problem I could really see would be tabards that have an on-use effect may require some extra coding to get them to work if they changed it to a menu.
But really, the only tabard with an on-use effect I can think of was only available for a short time just before the launch of tBC so it's not exactly common.
In related news, spent last night chain-running Scarlet Monastery on my alts to get them the Scarlet Tabard, Shield, and a few other items in case they aren't available in 5.0 (or only become available in the Heroic mode, making them more difficult to farm).

All they need to do is copy what they've already done with equipment manager. Put a little arrow next to the tabard slot and have that bring up a menu of all tabards. Then you pick one and it acts like the item (only you cannot drag it off the character sheet like other items).

About a year ago back someone hacked me, thought that was the last time I would get anything blizzard related after settling that.
I was a level 60 Goblin rogue with nothing of value so congrats anybody possibly trying to hack me (or again), you won't own much but jack diddly shit.
The Argent Tourney tabard, Tol Barad tabard and the one from Shadowmourne all have on-use effects as well.
I completely forgot about the teleporting tabards (though I always thought the TB one was pretty useless since Blizzard wanted everyone to set their hearth to SW/Org and those cities have portals to TB anyways).
What's the Shadowmourne one do?

What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been no longer rewards Master Riding.
Not surprising, but still disappointing. Who knows, maybe it's still tied to the drake.
EDIT: Also something I'm surprised people aren't discussing are the "Elite" version of raid gear.
In 10/25 normal and heroic, apparently there's going to be "Elite" tagged versions of drops based on how you did a boss fight. So there will be a tier of gear (not Tier gear though, it seems) above heroic gear. It is currently 7 ilvls above the other level; and is currently only attached to the Protectors fight.
And in a different, and (IMO) incredibly stupid decision, Tabards in MoP will not reward rep. They will be Exalted only rewards like back in TBC. Enjoy getting rep while you do your usual dungeons? Too fucking bad. Go do dailies bitch.
Ugh, maybe there is something else they're changing/adding that they haven't shown yet, as far as rep goes; but rep going back to dailies only is a terrible decision IMO. At least with tabards, on alts I don't want to do dailies with, who I'm gearing up, they can get some rep.
I think the decision about rep and tabards has to be viewed in the context of their decision not to make rep "necessary." IIRC they're giving shoulder enchants to scribes and removing head enchants entirely so rep is now supposed to be something you _can_ do rather than a chore you have to complete to be able to do what you actually want to do.
From that perspective the tabard thing seems reasonable

Yeah, I suppose that's a more reasonable and levelheaded perspective on the change.
I was all feeling good about being bitter and angry. Thanks.

I say not surprising because its the end of an xpack cycle, no new content for ages, and Diablo 3.
I'm sure they'll make most of the lost subs in the last couple years back with MoP; at least for a time.
