I really like the kaleidoscope effect and the Velvet Room part, but that's about it.
The rest is less Persona 4 and more look what we added to Persona 4!
Well, the intro movies for Atlus's rereleases do tend to focus on the new content over the old. Like how the intro for the enhanced version of SMT3 speeds through the intro text and focuses mainly on Dante and the Fiends, and nearly all of the in-engine stuff in the intro to FES spotlights the added content and costumes.
Beat P3P over the weekend. The final boss was even easier than last time because I had a mega-Beelzebub.
As much as I rag on it for not being as good as P4, the game is still really fucking awesome. I know I'm going to replay it again someday, even though it's over 90 hours long.

Just finished the Alice fight on DS2. Third play through going for the 'New World' ending. I had a party of high level demons accumulated from the other runs and that was still a challenging fight. All of my almighty teams weren't doing much so it came down to abuse of range (Vasuki + Evil Flow) and a combination of Deathbound/Assassinate. I imagine the rest of the game will be a breeze after that. I may do one more run through to try and take down Beelzebub. So far that's the only fight that I wasn't able to finish. 50+ hours in DS2 and it's still fun. I'm tempted to go back and finish DDS2 or FES now...
Son of a bitch. Oh well hope it's the follow up to Nocturne the series deserves.
Or not, and then I can continue to not have a 3ds.

That art has a huge SMT1 vibe. So hyped.
I really think this is it, at last. A Nocturne successor.
The Great War? We can only hope.

I'm really excited about this! I don't really have time to play long JRPGs on consoles anymore, but there is will always be long bus rides with the 3DS for me.
Also, I'm usually 3 or 4 years behind the console cycle nowadays, so if they put it on the 360/PS3 I'd probably never get around to playing it.
I'm having a bit of trouble slogging through Persona 1. It's not because I dislike the game, but I've never been able to get into long gaming sessions with handhelds like I can with consoles. My backlog definitely has a much higher ratio of not played and not finished handheld games than console ones.
That said, a new SMT is a guaranteed presale purchase. It might take me a few years to get the system, but the sale is made before they finish the game.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

An update of the Nocturne/Digital Devil Saga 3D model style or something along similar lines (in Kaneko style) would be ideal for me personally, but traditional 1st person dungeon crawler would be fun as well.
Time to break out Nocturne for the first time in forever.
Persona Series Vita.
SMT (core), Soul Hackers, & Devil Suvirvor 3DS.
I'm okay with this. Hilarious though that the 'family' system gets the more hardcore titles and the 'hardcore' system gets the friendlier SMT spinoff series.
Haven't really had any interaction with the main SMT titles and don't really feel inclined to change that, but this does look interesting. Maybe we'll get some more infos at E3.

Here's hoping it's a step forward for the series and not a step back like Strange Journey.

Soul Hackers justified it. This seals it.
Surprising after all the 'SJ was IV' talk from Kaneko.
Best deliver, Atlus. Best deliver.
I-....I think they will.

YES YES NEW MAINLINE MEGATEN
..Would've preferred it for a console, but I have a 3DS. Yay.
All I ask is no first person. And no menu based navigation.

It's most likely SMT for handhelds and Persona for consoles. Atlus should have enough manpower to work on both, I think.
Time to break out Nocturne for the first time in forever.
SJ is my second favorite game in the series and I hope we get more. Bring back passwords and expand them to spot/street passable.
Still, pretty excited for the real SMT IV.
Not that we've missed terribly much since Nocturne, but still!
Don't forget "If..."!
Even an EU localization?
I might have to go out and buy DS:O here even though I don't have a 3DS if there is a chance that helps.
Yes, it actually did get one.

Happy it is on a portable system, though.
Also, finally got past the Day 2 boss of DS2. What a pain.
I bet that the top white, blurry palce with the ancient buildings is some kind of dream world, while the bottom is what's happening in the real world.

I'm thinking my guess is right.

There's nothing to translate. It just says Shin Megami Tensei 4 -Starting/start/booting/yougettheidea.
I'm getting some mad Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World vibes there.
