Why, pre-purchasing man, he doth bestride the narrow world,
Like a colossus, and we petty men
Walk under his huge legs, and peep about
To find ourselves dishonorable graves.

That 30 min video was pretty sweet. Didn't show off a starting area, which can be a little boring. There was decent explanations of things, and there was some small scale easy to see pvp going on at the end.
I'm going to Seattle next week for an ANet presser. I am super jazzed because I really admire the ANet devs and can't wait to interview some of 'em! I'd be happy to take question suggestions from my fellow WANGers... as long as they aren't stupid questions that nobody will answer like, "When is the release date?" or super-specific theorycrafting questions about skills/traits that might change between now and launch anyway. So if you have anything you'd like me to ask or look into, fire away!
If you run into the press mob, WaM, feel free to say hi to the short lady with the curly red hair. That's a-me!
UI: Can you scale or reposition the UI like the first game?
Macros: Will the game have macros, what will there limitations be? The only thing I can think of doing is a 1 button press to switch weapons and activate a particular skill on the 2nd weapon bar.

I can almost guarentee the answer to this (at least the specific case you give) will be "Hells no".
If ANY of you happen to have not pre-purchased the game yet, you can grab the game for 10% off over at greenmangaming.com . Just use BRING-ALLUR-GUILD when you're looking to check out. That coupon expires on the 16th.
Oh, there will be macros through add-ons if they are not already in the game. People will want buttons to switch builds and traits quickly outside of combat.. Unless for some reason ArenaNet doesn't allow Guild Wars 2 to have add-ons.

Thank you sir bear. You've earned every inch of that suit.
Is this just like buying it from the GW2 site then? They'll send you the code and such and you can download the client or what?
While reading a certain forum that shall not be named, I learned something reading some of the stories of what happened during someone's attempt to stream.
If Internet Batman suddenly appears before you and tells you you need to stop streaming, do not answer with "I dunno bro."

Make your purchase, receive code on the next page more or less. However I will note there was some... oddness with registering it. I'm breaking the NDA a -little- here but let's just say a particular bear got into something special and already had an account but somehow has made a new one and he is very confused.
I seem to remember hearing something about ArenaNet aiming its PvP at a competitive level, in which case having add-ons could throw balance out the window.
I've also just pre-purchased my copy, can't friggin wait!

ArenaNet isn't going to allow add-ons, no. Why would they?
Why wouldn't they? Add-ons can lead to innovative features that can be added to the official game in the future and modding communities can literally come up with thousands of ideas that may improve the game experience. Also, it allows customization of the user interface which is important because not everyone likes playing the same way. Add-ons that ArenaNet feel are unbalanced or break the game, can be blocked.

I want to meet Internet Batman when I'm at ANet. I hope he has a batmouse.

I wont get terribly into why I don't actually believe much of that. Anything that's useful can simply be added by ArenaNet. There's no purpose for why people usually clamor for add-ons, you say that but most people? They crave threat/DPS meters, which in the case of this game, are worthless.

I don't doubt once people play the game they will start wanting certain things added in. Maybe ArenaNet will add them but it would probably be faster for the community to do it. A game made by humans won't satisfy every desire which is why mods and UI overlays exist.

Off the top of my head, one of the things that add-ons could fix that I doubt Anet will bother with are making boon/condition icons much more distinct and displayed in an easier to interpret manner (like say, conditions on the left, boons on the right instead of just being in a giant pileup in the bottom middle of the screen). There's also the obvious stuff like font changes, removal of fancy background art (I wouldn't ever do that but there are people who like super minimalist UI's). I mean, in the realm of out-of-the-box UI's GW2's is the best, but it still doesn't really hold a candle to my WoW UI where I had everything exactly where I wanted it.
From the videos I've watched the UI seems well put together. I personally am looking forward to a more minimalist experience. After the skill bloat in TOR this game seems pretty streamlined to me.

Oh yah, TOR had 4 full bars of skills for both my jug and op. I couldn't have found the button to remove conditions even if I had wanted to.
