Loved the episode... (any non 4th panel is great!), but also really enjoy the ping pong episodes. I liked them wearing their Paint The Line t-shirts instead of the polos. I almost think they should be selling their own logo'd ping pong balls, paddles, and maybe even an actual golf/ping pong sportsy jersey. But definitely the ping pong balls - they're not even that expensive to get made.
Definitely agree about the sound mixing comments... I found myself going back to listen to some sound bites several times and switching to headphones & still not being able to make out some lines.
Also found the episode interesting since it's the first time we've seen PA lose on camera - it will be interesting to see how they bounce back. Also got a kick out of Levin playing for them.
And about the new hires weighing them down - since they're apparently hiring another person this year. The final 1 on 1 interview should be a 1 on 1 game of ping pong on camera against Khoo - win & you get the job.
Personally, I love the 4th Panels. I see a lot of people saying there are to many of them, but I wish we had one for every comic. I find them the funniest episodes, and I generally watch to laugh.
That said, I do really enjoy the behind the scenes episodes, and I like the entire crew.
I'm sure it would be cost prohibitive, but I'd love to see PATV split into two shows, one about the office life, and one just called 4th Panel which is half an hour long and goes up weekly showing the creative process behind each week's 3 comics.
I can see how people who most enjoy the office life episodes would be disappointed with this season, but as someone whose favorite part is 4th Panel, I'm loving it.
Interesting, you're the first person I've seen saying that on the forums. Vantage Point said at their PAX East panel when people kept asking them about this that it was a directive from Khoo to do almost exclusively 4th Panels - I guess to get the focus back moreso on Mike & Jerry.
I actually liked when it was a nice even split between the 2, but then having it suddenly shift mid-season I think is where a lot of the comments are coming from... that and some people think that the 4th panels take a lot less effort on the part of the film crew (which may or may not be the case - I don't know).
