So this movie just came out and it is all kinds of rad.
Basically some kids, pictured below, go to a cabin. It's in the woods. Then things happen! It's pretty dang awesome, and even better if you go in not knowing anything about it. Seriously. Don't look at reviews, as they are viper pits full of spoilers, and just go see it.

I'd classify it mainly as a comedy with some thriller elements, the horror is very subdued
the entire movie I was thinking that if cavemen managed to lock these dudes up, we can deal with them
then I saw a Wrath of the Titans poster on the way out and realized that is basically what the sequel would be
I still can't stop thinking about little details of it. I need to see it again.

it's a comedy in the same way behind the mask is
it's still a horror movie, but the horror is played for laughs/in a nudge nudge "remember that? yeah? TROPES!" way instead of just being OH FUCK WATCH OUT

I haven't seen Behind the Mask but the horror in the film are well done horror scenes, and I am sure with your tome of knowledge TLB you would enjoy every Ode to Horror that this movie has.
the "choices" they almost made (plus count marty moving towards the films) were The Bride (locket on the dress), Merman (conch), FORNICUS LORD OF BONDAGE AND PAIN (the sphere), sugar plum fairy (music box) and then the redneck zombies
