Gamesradar's Top 100 Video Games of All Time

Normally, I hate Top Video Game lists but I thought this one was better than most.

Here are their rules:
WAIT! Don't click to the next page and get started with 100 until you’ve read this intro. Before you can agree, disagree or tell us what we “missed” and “forgot,” you need to understand exactly how we chose the games that we did. Here are a few reasons why:
By best, we really mean best. These are not the most important, most groundbreaking or most definitive games of all time, though a majority would certainly overlap with those descriptions as well. We focused most on the game still being worth playing now. For each contender, we asked ourselves: Would we really recommend this to a friend today? Some games are truly timeless and will entertain no matter how old the graphics or how outdated the interface. The ones that aren’t… aren’t here.
No repeats. 100 is a small number when you’re judging an entire medium, so we couldn’t afford to include more than one example from each series, unless that series evolved substantially. Yes, you’ll find multiple Zeldas, Marios and GTAs, but only because they’ve offered brand new experiences again and again.
Different rules. Don’t be shocked when a couple of our Games of the Year lose out to their former Runners Up. When choosing that award, we value innovation and surprise, often passing over sequels for titles that offered us something we’d never seen before. For this countdown, pure quality trumps everything else.

Major omissions IMO include:

No Shin Megami Tensei titles.
No Dark Souls

Odd Series choices IMO:

Ms. Pac-Man instead of Pac-Man: CE or CE DX
DKC instead of DKC2
Katamari Damacy instead of We Love Katamari

Personal choices that I would have included that most wouldn't agree with:
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter
Half-Minute Hero
Siren (or Siren 2 if we're counting UK/Japanese releases)

I'd switch Civ V with Civ IV + Expansions and SC2 with SC1/BW

If they're going for timeless games then Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Baldur's Gate 2, and Planescape: Torment definitely should have been on the list.

Seconded. Also, is it just me or does the inclusion of Portal and Portal 2 violate their rule to include "only one game per series, unless there's substantial evolution"? Both of those games are incredible, but they're not all that different gameplay wise.

Top 100 Lists aren't really good thread material. It pretty much leads to petty fighting amongst people.

Also, you basically just posted a link and little else. I mean, you posted the list, but that's not really enough. So, closing this for now.
