My summer job interview in my dream field went really well. That's good!
It'll kinda ruin a bunch of my summer plans because I'll be semi-sequestered on an island for four months. That's... okay, that's part of why I want this job specifically, I want to live on an island for the sumer!!, but it does mess up some of my plans to see bands and friends and stuff. But I knew that when I applied.
how lovely! be advised that island goblins are most dangerous in the deep summer when their coke fueled rampages lead them out of their ancestral hovels
I'm working with a recruiter to get into the Navy nuclear power program, so that's good. I won't get to leave until October though, so that kinda sucks.

Good: My brother has offered to let me doss at his for a while if I want to look for work/a flat in Bristol, and I think Bristol would be an awesome place to live.
Bad: I still need to do the whole "find a new job" thing, and I suck at job hunting.

Good: lunch date went well yesterday, she seemed pretty nice and we have a fair bit in common
Bad: I guess we didn't really click despite common interests, we chatted for 60-90 minutes but there were a few awkward lulls
Good: it was still fun to meet somebody new, and we really did get a long so I'm probably gonna hang out with her again in the future even if it doesn't become a romantic thing

I have a magnet on the back of my nametag, and I've been keeping it within close distance of my i-devices, work ID and credit card for like 4 years
It's pretty strong, it has to be stronger than the magnet in a pair of headphones
Finished putting new tubes and brake pads and re-lubing the chains on my bike last night; that's good.
Didn't realize until halfway into town that I didn't set the brakes right, and for all intents and purposes they weren't even there. That was ... harrowing.

I have an in-person interview coming up tomorrow, and am expecting at least 2 offers next week.
That's good!
But some of them it sounds like want me to move and begin work... yesterday, essentially.
I really need some downtown to decompress AND to get some of the dentist stuff out of the way.
I might not have the luxury of that.
That's bad!
But overall still very good, I'd say.

Bad things, not sure how i did in the interview, still got lots of prep work for dming, this cat is too warm
Good: During all of that, I got a new job, got my apartment cleaned up, and generally came out unscathed
oh, and while offline I passed the time with my old CSI DVDs and it rekindled my love of the show
