Do your groups a favor and don't queue for CR until 37. At 35 you're 3 levels under the mobs in the dungeon, and especially for melee, your DMG will be crap. And for a Lancer, you will get your face stomped in and/or not be able to hold threat.

People keep saying this, yet I also keep threat through spamming sorcs and ohs happy slayers so I'll just give it a shot. There is something to be said about having gear on par with most level 37 stuff, if not better.
Or, I guess to sound like an ass, I'd rather not let others being bad dissuade me.

Character level matters A LOT in Tera as far as how much damage you do/take from mobs. The next armor upgrades come at L38. Before that what you're wearing is equivalent to L27 +3 Golds if you have the current quest equipment. If the healer has to overheal you/others, then they're gonna pull aggro. And PUG dps is like herding cats, etc. Watching L35s get one-shot by stuff that you could shrug off at say L38 was rather humorous. But then again -- why do I have to roll against them for items when they're being a drag on the party?

Actually what I'm wearing now is equivalent of level 37 blues. The only upgrade I can even get even at 38 is the blue drops from CR.
Quest gear is pretty bad compared to just fishing the broker for the to tier stuff you can equip every level.
Basically, in a game weighted towards skill, its best just to gear up and try it. Unless you know the person giving the advice is actually better then you by a wide enough margin.
I guess the more diplomatic way to put it is that if you don't challenge yourself, you'll never get better, and tera gives enough weight to actually being good at your class to make it worth improving.

I definitely don't plan on going at 35, but I'd be willing to give it a shot at 36 despite the gloom and doom.
I'm just pointing out that it doesn't matter how good you are, if the level difference between you and the mobs in the dungeon is going to gimp your damage potential. It's going to make you a potential liability to the party, and make the entire run take longer as you aren't physically able to pull your weight due to the way damage is calculated.
But w/e knock yourself out 3 levels before you can even equip the drops...
Frogster support is like a barrel of monkeys. I currently have two tickets open for the same problem and two different teams trying (and failing) to verify my email address. Their support accounts are separate from their game accounts and I couldn't create a support account using my in-game email (due to Frogster's incompetence, but let's leave that aside from now) so I made it with a separate address. The past three days has been nothing but
"Please reply to this using your game email."
*replies with game email*
"Okay, I'm just updating this ticket to tell you that 've sent the email."
"Our records show that you used the web interface to respond. Please use your email client."
"YOU DAMN MONKEYS, I USED BOTH, I SPECIFICALLY STATED THAT ARGLE BARGLE."
Rinse repeat. This time I only replied via email client and am eagerly anticipating the 'you have not responded in 72 hours, so we're closing the ticket as resolved' message.
Mystics! Is there a limit as to how many healing spheres I can leave lying around, or can I litter the place to my little puppy heart's content?
Also, can anyone pick them up? Or just myself (and my party, I'm assuming)?
Super late, I know. As someone else suggested, the orbs are treated pretty much exactly like loot. Initially only party members, then its open season, and eventually it'll disappear altogether. The number is pretty much limited by the timer, which is longish, so if you've got the patience you could create a ton. I imagine a large team of dedicated mystics could probably have noticeable effect on the server (please don't try to find out).

Huh, didn't realize all the CR gear was 38 and 40
That makes a much more compelling argument for waiting than "it's hard"
It *is* hard at 35. I've seen a lot of runs with 35s in it, and they have died a bare minimum of 3 times throughout the run. The worst I saw was a Slayer dying probably like 12 times.
One room in particular, the one west of the entrance, *always* kills the 35s. Oneshotted by some of the cleaving trash mobs.
They really should up it to like 37 minimum considering the massive difference levels make in this game.

Yeah, but "its hard" just makes me want to try even more.
Pointing out the gear is level 38 though, yeah, I'll just wait then.
You can have the best gear available to you at 35 and you will still do less dps than a random 38+er; you'll be a liability to your party almost guaranteed, regardless of your ability to stay alive.
If you want to solo a bam 3 levels higher than you, that's fine, awesome, and you should record it, but in a group there are other people involved.
1 of the Deathfang things, I mentioned that in this thread, and the named BAM in the Temple of Dagon. I didn't realize that it was a BAM until it was too late, and I didn't want to die sooo I just backed myself up against the wall and beat it into submission. I went from 117ish Stamina to 33 by the time the fight was over. He got a couple hits in on me, but I just Vampire Striked him a few times to health back up.
So we get stiff once in a while. So we have a little fun. What’s wrong with that? This is a free country, isn’t it? I can take my panda any place I want to. And if I wanna buy it a drink, that’s my business.
I went from 125 stamina to 50 stamina on my warrior taking down Barraq in Celestial Hills for a guild quest. I didn't realize he was a world boss until after the half hour fight was over.
The RPG Bestiary - Dangerous foes and legendary monsters for D&D 4th Edition
So the number of asshat Lancers seems to be growing.
I am seeing more and more people (Berserkers) comment on the official forums about Lancers booting them from the group or dropping from the group because they don't want competition for gear drops.
In other asshat Lancer news, my Guild Leader banned a 50+ level Lancer from our guild for kicking a Berserker who came into his group from the LFD tool and admitting to doing it in guild chat.

I did CR last night on my 36 Priest with a 36 Lancer, mid 30s Archer, Slayer and a 40 Sorc. The Lancer was taking damage fine enough, though the Slayer ended up dieing a few times during boss fights.

But even if you did, they could just say "lol cya" and replace you with another Mystic or a Priest in a few minutes.
Lancers being the ONLY class that can queue "Tank" in the LFD Tool gives them a very powerful lever to use in coercing everyone else to do what they want.

I've had a few lancers ignore my requests to join their groups, probably because I'd roll on "their" plate. its fucking stupid, especially when tanking for lancers mostly consists of how much of their lance can block.
still, thats maybe one or two requests out of my dozens that weren't. most lancers are pretty cool people. still nice when I get in a group with a warrior tank, all the plate drops are MINE
I gotta say, this game is damn lucky the combat is so addicting because the questing is starting to become insanely repetitive. The whole "grab 6-8 quests at this out post, finish them, get a quest for moving on to next out post, repeat for 60 levels" is almost...insulting. There literally no variation at all, and every out post looks the same, some type of wall with a camp fire in the middle with some people standing around. You can tell they just didn't give a fuck after awhile which is sad, as it really diminishes the appeal for me, not that I'd ever stop playing or anything.
ah well, 10 more levels to go....

Just tanked that big spider in the level 20-ish area, Lancer is fun as fuck. I loved the fact that, if I blocked his roll, it stopped the roll, saving our squishies.

The whole lancer thing is annoying sometimes. Had a group a few days ago where the lancer didn't want to wait for the priest to regen stamina so he disbanded the group since he doesn't have to wait in the queue and it would be faster for him to find a new group. Like really?
Overall though I've been finding people to be pretty cool and helpful in the groups I've been in with pugs.
Which class would you guys say is the most solo-friendly so far? Warrior sounds pretty fun due to their mobility. When I played FFXI I enjoyed blink tanking and soloing on my dancer, so I welcome a challenge.

Lancer is super solo friendly but slow, Archer is proving to be pretty friendly as well. Warriors are probably just as solo friendly as you are skilled with the character. I have yet to play one though so not the best source of info.

Warriors can solo basically anything in the game, thanks to their mobility allowing them to avoid most attacks without even utilizing their dodges
