Yeah, some of those waits for parties can be brutal. That's one TERA's biggest flaws imo.
Not even. Wait til you hit the mid 50s in elenea and habere! Most mobs over there have twice the amount of health of those from level 60 zones because level 58 used to be the cap and those zones were scaled appropriately and never adjusted after they released the argon patch with 50% less grind...
It'll get worse before it gets much better but on the bright side, the later zones become really fun and rewarding; you get to shoot bams with a siege weapon, murder massive amounts of mobs with a goddess of war and her god-buff and infiltrate a dungeon stealthily mgs style. Then you get a badass horse and the storyline starts showering you with gold!

Also does anyone know if the XP things stack? Say I'm not able to play and add the hour to a character, and then do the same thing for the next day, will they stack?

No, it won't stack. It'll replace whatever time you have left with the full hour. The buff stops whenever you aren't on so you can use it up the next day then pop the buff whenever it runs out.
Bought this when it first came out. But company error screwed my account of my first 30 days free so I just bailed. I'm ready to come back... just need to decide on Slayer or Archer... hmmm
From my (limited) experience, SA is "Run past everything, kill bosses, collect free loot". GL can go die in a fire with all its random AoE of death and spinning bosses, though.
Nah, it's just playing mystic alone is a giant wall of screw this. I used to have quest buddies so I had tons of fun playing mystic/leveling was never grindy, but after my subscription ran out and the whole server merges etc they went to celestial hills and I haven't found new quest buddies let alone anyone random to just do quests with me in the meantime. Really frustrating. Everyone else is having their super fun solo time and I'm on the sidelines waiting for a literal pity party.

That's how I felt on my sorcerer too. 54-?? really sucks solo for any class. The mobs take forever to kill and if you don't find a leveling group the game gets boring and tedious very quickly. Hopefully the PA guild will stay active enough to have people to power through it with!

So, I was making some general statements in guild chat last night about how mystics are the worst class in the game. This is a terse list of reasons. Written over the space of a few hours when I had time to update it.
Disclaimer: My first 60 was a mystic, revered with all the factions around back then, 95% solo and played on a pvp server in both pve and pvp.
I expected mystic to be a cross between the spirit master and lancer classes from Aion. What I ended up with was more like a Kheldian from City of Heroes. It can do a bit, but you have to work your butt off to achieve what other classes do easier. It seems like it was sketched out, but then not refined beyond a certain point.
Positional buffs. (all require group to be within range or no benefit, if you are close enough for your melee during some fights you get squished)
Useless pets. (fairy is useful, protection very situational, rest rubbish)
Poor mana recovery. (Mana recovery roots the player and most other powers will cancel the timer)
Low damage.
Lot of mostly useless powers. (a few are meant for pvp, stuns, buff wipes, sleep, fear, can be amusing in pve)
During an encounter, lock on heal, cleanse, mana and health balls are the main skills. If mana is okay and things aren't difficult, the power buff.
Yes, with a well played team amazing things can be done, but how many of those have people had? I have had people thank me during and after nexus for managing to heal them, pretty easy when you just stand there and sweep the lock on heal. I have also been cursed when trying to recover the group during AH or BG and not manage to get the pillar or mirror in time.
TL;DR I don't like mystics, but I am sure yours is wonderful
Any idea how the shop store costume items work? Do they go in the costume slot or do they appear as new options on character creation? If the former, are they considered account-wide or one per purchase?

Cotume slot and probably 1 per purchase if it's anything like the old costumes.

When I purchased some swim suits they came as an account item that was a single use as far as claiming on the character. Using it bound it to that particular character. Unable to pass it to a similar race and gender character on the account.
Is it possible to buy a costume as a gift for someone? Or are they automatically bound to your character? Or the person I wanna gift it to won't be able to wear it because they don't have that custom slot?
Pretty sure you can.
Afaik, costumes come to you unbound and tradeable since that one patch a while ago and there's no custom slots that have to be unlocked so anyone can use them as long as it's the right race and gender version. Obviously they still bind once you equip them.
Check the broker, there's should be a substantial market for costumes being sold.
Thanks to GW2 I keep feeling rich when playing TERA.

Spent 10g getting myself outfitted in auction house rares, then went out and made back several times that amount in an hour. Felt like I robbed a bank and got away with it.

Don't play the prologue as it is utterly awful. In order to skip it after creating a character you can log out from the prologue and log back in. It does a terrible job introducing players to Tera (whether you like the game or not is still to be determined of course).

It gives you the option to play the prologue or not to play it immediately after creating a character. Don't have to do any logging tricks.
