@Kabitzy tried to get in touch with you in-game yesterday but you need to reapply.
I reapplied just now
Don't see it. You are applying to the guild in-game and not the guildlaunch site that no one ever updates right?
Yeah I still have access to apps on the Guildlaunch site and they are totally applying to the site, not in-game (I see two apps in a row, I'll go ahead and approve one while I'm at it :P). Whoops! You'll want to go to the Social menu, go to Guilds on Server, and search for We Are Nice Guys. (At least I think this was the accurate order of operations, haven't played in a long while now.) Then apply through there (mention you're from PA and that your name is what it is!).
I actually redownloaded the game but I'm making myself promise not to touch it except to play with my real-life friends (so I'm not reapplying to the guild for now). We'll see how long my willpower lasts.
Man, I am so bad at soloing BAMs. I get one down to like 40% without taking a hit, then I slip up (or try to use a defensive ability that's on cooldown or a lag spike screws me over) and suddenly I'm sitting at 5% health going "welp. Is it even worth risking my crystals or should I just jog away?".
I think my one real problem with the game is downtime. I don't even mind losing several gold worth of crystals, but having to sit around getting your health and stamina back to full after death is sooooo damn tedious; you can use bandages to get your health back, but aside from one Lancer ability on a long cooldown I've not seen anything to recover stamina rapidly, certainly not class-independent.
^ This. More often that not they're conveniently located near the place you'll respawn at, and it's really cheap. I think the last one i used was asking for 4 gold, which is nothing.

Panaecic bolsters. Alchemy makes them and they're sometimes rewards from the instance finder. Keeps your stam from decreasing as long as you have them
Oooh yeah, I had entirely tuned out the clerics. Definitely poking them next time I keel over, finding a fire and alt-tabbing for 5 minutes isn't worth the few gold saved.
I gave this game a download last night. Played about 20 minutes this morning and plan to give it another shot tonight. Seems ok so far. I know I want a sorcerer because I like blowing things up at a distance, but Lancers seem awesome too. Does this game have instancing and dungeons and the like? I imagine it does, in which case I'm guessing Tanks are in high demand like most other MMOs?
Queueing for any end game dungeon with a Tank is basically an instant queue.
I can't wait for this weekend when I can really log in some more hours. Those rep points aren't going to make themselves. I guess I should probably just schedule an hour a day, since that's really all it takes to do the quests, so I can get my rings and earrings.
So we get stiff once in a while. So we have a little fun. What’s wrong with that? This is a free country, isn’t it? I can take my panda any place I want to. And if I wanna buy it a drink, that’s my business.

Kinda funny that we were just talking about that several posts higher on the page. :P @Beezel: Can you maybe put instructions like these near the top of the OP so people don't get confused? I actually thought those instructions were somewhere in there before.

I've been slacking on updating the OP regularly since I was under the assumption that the regulars went to the guildlaunch page for their news now. I will resume regular updates and polish up the information we have now when I get home if that isn't the case :O

So I've been told I don't need to worry about enchanting while I level. How about glyphs? How does that work? The link to the guide in the OP isn't working for me.
Some people play tennis, I erode the human soul. ~ Tycho
Damn, there used to be a fantastic glyph builder that also ranked glyph by how useful they were, but the guild that hosted it moved on. I don't have the patience to number-crunch crap like that.
I did some enchanting when I happened to have fodder junk to use, but eh. Not bothering until I'm 60.

the rule I follow for enchanting is for leveling gear you can enchant to +3. But only dungeon drops. When you hit 54-55 you might want to +6 your weapon at least because depending on class you're going to be spending a lot of time in that range up to level 58. After that you can go back to not caring because they hand over a full set of T12 and when you hit 60 your should have enough money saved to buy a full set of T13 and enchant everything to +6
So, uh, I got accepted to the main PA guild, which opened up some crafting guild quests (I think?).
Anyway, they seem to be intro-to-crafting quests (e.g., one for each crafting profession) that are things like "Make 25 Recruit Breastplates," or whatever. The quest gives me 25 "Recruit Breastplate Kits," each of which requires 5 ... Newbie Armor Kits or whatever to make. Each of those costs, like, 2 silver to make, so it'll cost 10 silver to make the breastplates for just one of the newbie crafting quests. Times 25, you're looking at 2.5 gold for each of the quests.
Just coming off the newbie island, I've got something like 60 silver to my name. Is there something that I'm missing here?
The crafting quests are solely to grind your crafting level up. And the early ones aren't even the best way to do that. There's even a handy matrix on the official site crafting page that has a breakdown.

I just started the game yesterday as well. In my mail I got a key to one of those many lockboxes you find for valentine's day. I opened a box with the key and made 100g, which seems like a huge amount for a level 11 dude with no alts.
Played for awhile this afternoon, logged out to do some stuff around the house and when I went to log in again there was a queue about 900 people long. Which sucks but yesterday after waiting in the queue for awhile I was given 10% experience buff for an hour.
Really liking my Lancer so far.
Edit: Logging into the Tempest Reach server is quite a long process during "Peak Hours" it has been about an hour of waiting now. From the looks of the queue in front of me it will be quite a bit longer yet as well.

I've been in this 44 minute queue for 30 minutes and I still have 35 minutes left....booooooo math

Regarding glyphs: having them can be extremely important, so you absolutely do need to invest in them. If you read the class guides that are linked in the OP, you should be able to get a pretty good idea of which glyphs to take (I don't know if the info is up-to-date, but most of it should still be about accurate). Usually you want to glyph things that have a chance to reset cooldowns of major skills (aside from maybe Evasive Roll) and increase the strength of your major skills or increase their effectiveness or their crit rate or what-have-you. Powerlink glyphs are good IF you tend to use the two skills one after another in your rotation (like for Slayers, there's one for increasing the strength of Overhand Strike when you've chained into it from Knockdown Strike, which happens ALL THE TIME so that's a good glyph). MP cost reduction ones aren't usually very impressive, but things that make your mana restoration skills better are fairly nice for casters. Buuut what's good naturally depends on your class a fair bit.
I really like the combat so far(playing as a slayer), but this game seems to take a real dump on my computer(especially when I was in that unicorn area north of Lumbertown). Got challenged to a duel. Then after I lost and rested up, they flagged red and pk'd me. They were a level lower than me and I couldn't touch them. Was frustrating as heck.

Yeah, I bought CE at launch, subbed for 3 months, no points to show for it. Frogster'd!
Also, I think the EU store has a much smaller selection of stuff. Aside from all the generic services, all you can buy is the eyepatch/etc stuff that (certain?) US accounts got for free. Special costumes and weapon skins? Hah.

Especially the melee classes. When you can turn from target to target, hitting each as you go, there's not much else I find as fun.
well that is a nice improvement over the initial release !
