Last Samurai Jack episode was the one with the baby. Never got a proper ending, but they're supposed to be working on a movie.

It really comes as no surprise. It's hard to take someone down a peg when they're bursting with self-confidence.

Maybe Im being armchair general, regarding fights with the equalists...

if earthbending, why dont they turn the ground to quicksand or void out their landing spots like Toph can? or is it that Toph was just that truely gifted in earthbending?

Seems like it'd be my go-to move when fighting non-benders would be to make the ground unstable as fuck.

Granted, the new kids havent been in many life-or-death fights yet.

Toph was the best Earthbender in the world. Aside from Bumi.

Toph figured out a new earthbending technique the world had never seen before...when she was 12. She's kind of an outlier.

True. She can't bend with just her face, though. 8-)

I guess I need to go back through the episodes like the bug boys and look for other earthbenders launching bass-quakes then.

In the first episode of Season two, the general guy sinks Katara in localized quicksand
And in Bitter Work Toph tells Aang to let her get Sokka out of the ground because Aang might accidentally crush him

so I'm thinking it's possible just not easy to to do in the heat of battle against very fast opponents

I think a trick like that might be a specialist technique for Earthbenders that requires training and innate talent similar to Lightning

It is one of the greatest tragedies of ATLA that they never had a focused one on one chat or even an episode together

This book is an anthology of short comic stories set at various points during the series. One of the stories involves Bumi and Toph getting into an earth-bending battle.

It's not as amazing as an actual episode of the show would have been, but it's pretty good.

I've mentioned this before, but I think it's extra applicable to Bolin and Mako. Their trained reactions during a fight are driven by pro bending. You can really see it in ... episode 4 I think, where Bolin tries to put up a barrier wall, and it's just really slow and awkward and isn't really even much of a wall. I really hope they have a bit where Korra gets in trouble because of her pro bending training.

Finally watched the new episode now that it's up on Nick, and the Spongebob commercials may just drive me to purchase the season elsewhere so I don't have to hear his annoying voice ever again..

In response to this though, we see her mix it up in this episode
She doesn't just strike with a simple blast of water like most of the pro-bending fights. She pulls up a TON of water and firehoses the other team off the end of the platform. And apparently its legal. So she is ok with thinking outside the box. Plus you see her attack the other team from underneath them with their own water source, when she got the penalty.

Yeah Korra has been trained for years in more traditional styles, it's Mako and Bolin that I foresee having to deal with that problem more than anything.

Please, the best part of the Headband is clearly that one Fire nation kid's fucking crazy dance.

All hamboning and the robot and breakdancing rolled into one.
